Day 1299: Disney Emoji Blitz

I've been waiting a long time to get my hands on some Disney Emoji, because let's face it, the little pineapple and little ice cream emojis barely represent how magical Dole Whips are, even though it's what we all end up using. And then finally, in the wake of Pokemon Go, Disney has finally come up with a solution: Disney Emoji Blitz. 

Basically just another version of Candy Crush combined with Tsum Tsums, the new game allows you to earn various Disney themed emoji, from churros to turkey legs to animals and characters. When you unlock the items in the game, they're unlocked in a special third party keyboard that you can turn on in the settings of your phone (I have an iPhone, but I'm not sure if it works with other devices). From there, you can share them on Twitter and in Text Messages! 

Unfortunately they don't work the same way as regular emojis, as you can only send three at a time and then copy them to your clipboard, which then sends them as a picture rather than in a small format such as in the message itself. It sort of works the same way as the Star Wars emojis did with the Star Wars app. Still, I'm not complaining, because now I can finally accurately express to my friends what I'm thinking without having them try to decipher the not-so-Disney emojis that come with the phone. 

Plus I have a new game to play while waiting in line at Walt Disney World! Tell me that's not a win-win!

Day 993: Fueling an Addiction

Hello, my name is Lizzie and I have recently become addicted to playing Tsum Tsum.

(Hello Lizzie).

It seems that the longer this blog goes on, the more addictions we end up talking about, and they all relate to Disney somehow. I suppose things could be worse though. There are a lot of other things to be addicted to, so I think I'll stay here with my love of all things Disney and be happy. And one of those Disney things is the Tsum Tsum game.

One of my friends here at college loves this game and has been trying to get me to play it since we came back, and I finally broke down and put it back on my iPad. I played it for a while when it first came out and then deleted it because I figured it would get too addicting. I was right, but I have also somehow managed to find a balance that works. Tsum Tsum time right before bed is a great way to give myself a quick break before hitting the hay!

If you're not familiar with the game, basically you have all these Tsum Tsums lined up and you have to clear them by connecting three or more together in a row. It took a bit of practice before I got used to it, but now I'm up to level 12 I believe and all I want to do is clear that darn bingo card!

As you can see, there's also multiple Tsum Tsum characters (and by multiple I mean TONS), many of which you might recognize from real life! Oddly enough, I don't own any of the Tsum Tsums in that picture, but I do have my fair share at home: Stitch, Joy, Saddness, Duffy, Chip, Dale, Donald, Cruella, Two Dalmatians, Dumbo, Lotso, Hamm, Dopey, Doc, and Grumpy! I think that's all of them...at least for now. One (and maybe more...hehe secrets) of my roommates also have some little Tsum Tsums around, and literally they make my day. They're just adorable!

Day 937: Breakfast Food

Moving into a larger dorm this fall also means that, for the first time, we have a kitchen to use as our own. Honestly, you wouldn't even think about how much it takes to put together a kitchen until you actually have to figure out what all goes in one...and then where it's all going to be stored, but we're making due. Regardless, it's sort of come to my attention that I may have a bit more cooking experience than some of my roommates, an odd feeling for me, especially since I don't even find myself to be THAT good of a cook. I mean, I can definitely make things and know the processes, but unless it's a batch of cupcakes, I just pray nothing burns and the pasta isn't like glue.

Doesn't mean that my roommates won't look at me like a chicken with its head chopped off when I pull out a spice rack and a lemon juicer.

Truth be told, I'm actually a weird type of OCD when it comes to food. I rarely measure things precisely. Well, I use measuring cups and stuff, but if it's not EXACTLY on the line, I don't worry too much about it, and things like olive oil or vanilla are rarely measured in my world. Whether that's due to me being lazy or what, I'm not sure, but the one thing I do find myself worrying about is definitely the processes and quality of the food. For instance, if I'm making some chicken, I'm not just going to throw that chicken into the pan. No, I'll probably end up marinating it some first and then baking it in the oven. Becuase I have so many allergies, I can't just eat freezer food or an apple and a slice of cheese. So generally, when I'm cooking something, I'm cooking something. From scratch, every process included.

And apparently I'm going to teach my roommates about some of these processes.

Now, once, over a year ago, I talked a little bit about My Disney Kitchen, the game I played as a child continuously. Why I found this cooking game so interesting I don't really know, but it definitely taught me how to make breakfast. Since blogging about it the last time, I found some video evidence of what I'm actually talking about...so here you go:

Of course, subconsciously, when Megan and I decided to make dinner last night and wanted breakfast food, we ended up making pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Funny how life works out that way. And you know what, our dinner looked a lot like the one served to Mickey and Minnie. 

Looking back at the game, however, I do find it a bit funny that Mickey and Minnie take turns eating. Also, I sort of wonder if that game is the reason I never like to do dishes. They just disappear from the table!

Day 567: Match the Quotes

Time for another fun game when it comes to Oh My Disney!

Making up blog posts is weird simply because I take the simplest thing and make it into an entire blog post but THAT'S OK! Because every little thing in my daily life that somehow relates back to Disney certainly has a lot to do with the whole point of this blog.

Anyway, right. Game time.

First off, yes, I am the person reciting all the lines in the Haunted Mansion stretching room out loud, and I'm working on learning those last couple words to "Yo Ho." Oh, and let's not even underestimate my ability to say every line of Spaceship Earth in time and with an accent.

So this quiz should be a breeze.

"Thank the phoenicians." HAHAHA. Spaceship Earth.

"You see the excellence of this invention?" Not going to lie, this ones a bit harder, but that's probably because it comes from Disneyland and I obviously have less experience there. Either way, Indiana Jones.

"And, of course, these little beauties." SOARIN'!

"You are not the first to pass this way nor shall you be the last." A moment of silence for Malestrom.

"We're not gonna make it, we're not gonna make it!" And yet we made it back, with a Dinosaur.

"The backside of water!" is the 8th wonder of the world...at least it is on Jungle Cruise.

"Make it a stretch...in fact, make it a super stretch." Another one that's a little harder since I don't ride this...ever...but we all should know this is Rock N' Roller Coaster!

"I'd like to borrow some aluminum foil, a clothespin, and a candle." Oh Bill Nye, what are you up to now?

"Some imagination, huh?" *Drastic hand movements timed to the music of the Fantasmic Finale*

"A salute to all nations, but mostly America." Probably my favorite Muppets line of all time.

"Kindly step all the way in please and make room for everyone." Is this even a question?

"But keep a weather eye open, mates, and hold on tight, with both hands if you please." Mates gave it away, didn't it?

"We're going to make you all disappear!" Now I'm going to be singing all night.

"I know you're in a hurry, hurry, hurry, but for your safety, safety, safety." I don't go to Disneyland often, and I've never even been on this one, but for some reason without even reading the options I knew it was California Screamin'.

"Now, something is about to happen that will change all that." How is that I've never been on half of these and still know all the answers? TOT.

A perfect score, huh? Go figure.
