Day 1040: Obscure Disney Music

I had someone a while back ask me about some of my favorite obscure Disney music, and truth be told, I think I listen to more of the obscure stuff than I do mainstream Disney. Don't get me wrong, I definitely know the lyrics to pretty much every famous Disney song (a la "Colors of the Wind," "Part of Your World," "Beauty and the Beast," etc), but that's not really what I listen to on an everyday basis.

But instead of just writing a blog post on the topic like I usually might, I headed to YouTube, and yes, you may even hear me sing...

As I mention in the video you can find all of the songs I talk about on a Spotify playlist, and for your convenience, here's a list of everything I talk about in the video:

And here are all the songs I talk about:
Welcome (Brother Bear)
Out There (Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Life's a Happy Song (The Muppets)
The Incredits (The Incredibles)
Everybody Wants to be a Cat, Volume 1
IllumiNations 25
Makin' Memories
Impressions de France
Welcome Medley
Space Mountain Soundtrack (Disneyland)
Suitcase and a Dream

Let me know what some of your favorite Obscure Disney songs are in the comments below!

Have a magical day!

Day 1024: Life is a Highway

Roadtrips. They can certainly be a hassle, but they can also be super fun, and since we were headed on a shorter one, about four and a half hours, my roommate and I took it upon ourselves to create the perfect roadtrip playlist for our drive to the Twin Cities. Of course, there were a lot of options to consider here, because after all, we all like different music. I do believe, however, that we did an excellent job!

You have to have some classic roadtrip songs on your list, of course, like I'm Shipping Up To Boston, Eye of the Tiger, Greased Lightning, Bohemian Rhapsody, and of course, I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles). From there we branched out into a few favorites, like We Are Here to Change the World...because you've got to have some Michael Jackson and Captain EO in here. We had to have some Christina Perri...because Christina Perri, and I made sure to include plenty of The Enemies, since, after all, we were heading to see Colin O'Donoghue's new movie.

But we're also Disney fans around here, and if you're in the car with me for more than an hour, you can pretty much guarantee that there's going to be Disney thrown in there somewhere. A few of my favorites? Definitely the Star Wars songs (Main Title, Han Solo & The Princess, and the ever popular Cantina Band), Music from Brave (which I've really been into lately), Frozen, a bunch of music that I came across through Mad T Party out at Disneyland, and pretty much every other awesome song I could find on my iTunes. Ultimately, the playlist levels out at 129 songs and 7 hours and 57 minutes, perfect for our trip to and from the Twin Cities...but you'll hear more about that later.

Have a magical day!

Day 994: Song of the Day

I'm always trying to find new ways to bring little bits of Disney into my daily routine. After all, that's what this blog is all about! Well, I'm happy to say that I've found yet another way for Disney to make an appearance, and this time it occurs pretty much every morning on my walk to class! This year, I'm lucky enough to not start any of my classes until, at the earliest, 10 each morning. It provides a little extra time to get work done, whether it is filming a video, working for one of my on-campus jobs, or catching up on homework on practicing, AND means that I can take my time heading to my first class of the day.

To make life more interesting, I've started doing #DisneySongOfTheDay, in which I play a different Disney song everyday, take a screenshot of it on my phone, and then post it on Twitter with the hashtag! So far it's been a ton of fun picking various songs, and it's an awesome way to go through the music library on my phone!

Here's a few of the songs I've included so far:

I would love to see some others adopting the Disney Song of the Day into their routine too! I throw in some earbuds and listen on my two-three minute walk to class, but maybe you listen during your drive home, while making dinner, working on homework, or even taking a shower! Let me know some of your favorite Disney songs in the comments below too!

Have a magical day!

Day 975: Magic in the Air

If you watch my YouTube videos, you might already know about this one, and I've definitely mentioned him before here on Everyday Disney, but if you're a Disney fan who loves YouTube and you're not watching MrCheezyPop, you're missing out! You may know him from his famous Pumpkin Spice "Shake It Up" parody, or maybe you saw him on the Lizzie Bennett Diaries, but either way, he's a Disney YouTube Personality and now he's got a great new song out in honor of the 60th Anniversary of Disneyland!

I won't even lie, I've definitely listened to the song on repeat more than once, and several of those views on YouTube are probably from me alone, much less my friends who are also MrCheezyPop fans. If you love the song, it's avaliable for purchase so you can listen to it anytime, anywhere, but the video as a whole brings me right back to Disneyland, especially with the sense of community. That's a lot of what Disneyland is about, and it's something I'll miss until I finally make my way back.

Until then I'll just have to watch more of Max's videos!

Have a magical day!

Day 712: A Long Day, A Clean Room

Cleaning always takes forever, there's no doubt about that. But I guess I don't really mind cleaning, or laundry or doing the dishes. We think I might be alright with this because I didn't really have chores to do as a kid. My family just didn't have that aspect. No we're not spoiled, it's just how things were. We all have our own ways of doing things, so having us all try to do them made things really complicated (it's the reason I do my own laundry now. It's more organized the way I like it).

My room, for the last how many months (AKA Since I left for College in August), has been a complete mess. The most I do there is sleep, and having a dorm room has made me a bit more OCD than maybe I'd really like. So having a messy room that I'm in all day was just getting on my nerves. Meaning that the day after returning home from college I took it upon myself to clean my room and reorganize everything until all my boxes were unpacked and everything looked normal again. It took a while, but I finally got it.

And what exactly helped me with this endeavor? Disney Music. Lots and lots of Disney music, among other things (like Taylor Swift and Christina Perri). I have this playlist of Disney Movie Music that I can sing along to while I work, from all over the board. In fact, here's the playlist (in list form, I'm not going to find links to all the songs. That would take forever!)

1. Belle (Beauty and the Beast)
2. Be Our Guest (Beauty and the Beast)
3. Beauty and the Beast
4. Look Through My Eyes (Brother Bear)
5. Welcome (Brother Bear)
6. On My Way (Brother Bear)
7. Touch the Sky (Brave)
8. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah (Song of the South)
9. Whistle While You Work (Snow White)
10. Chim Chim Cher-ee (Mary Poppins)
11. Once Upon A Dream (Sleeping Beauty)
12. The Gospel Truth/Main Title (Hercules)
13. Go The Distance (Hercules)
14. Zero to Hero (Hercules)
15. You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly! (Dumbo)
16. The Work Song (Cinderella)
17. The Second Star To The Right (Peter Pan)
18. Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat (The Aristocats)
19. Heigh-Ho (Snow White)
20. Out There (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
21. He Lives In You (The Lion King 2)
22. When Will My Life Begin (Tangled)
23. Mother Knows Best (Tangled)
24. I See the Light (Tangled)
25. Strangers Like Me (Tarzan)
26. Arcade Finale (Wreck-It Ralph)

If you're going to ask me about lyrics from a Disney song, I'd start with questions about this list, because I know pretty much all the words to the songs listed here. Aside from that, there are a few others, but these are the big ones. These are basically some of my favorite Disney songs period. That's a huge honor, right?

Now...my room is messy again, with laundry to put away and things to clean up...so I'd better get back to work.

Have a magical day!
