Day 1228: Working Travels

When I'm traveling, blogging ins't always the easiest thing to do. Sometimes I'll be at conventions, and when I go to Florida I don't even take my laptop along anymore. I never get around to using it anyway, and that means it just takes up unnecessary space in my luggage. So if I want to blog on the go, in that case, I have to use my iPad instead, which definitely ins't the most efficient way of writing. 

However, while on vacation or traveling anywhere, I'm always at work for Everyday Disney, gathering topics, seeing movies, filming vlogs, writing and filming video scripts, seeing new things, completing challenges, and taking just about every picture under the sun. In fact, the way I travel now is pretty drastically different from how I've traveled the rest of my life. Now it's definitely more about what I can do for Everyday Disney or my YouTube channel than just experiencing things, mostly because I've learned over time that sharing the adventures is way more fun than keeping them to myself! 

And actually, sometimes, traveling makes work much more difficult. Since I only have a select amount of time in the Disney Parks, I have a lot to get done in a short amount of time. That's pretty different in comparison to the amount of time I can take to do things when I'm just sitting at home. Plus, when I return I always have to make up for lost time and add blog posts that go along with my latest trip, and then there's vlogs to edit, and the list goes on and on. 

So while there may not be blog posts while I'm away, just remember that I'm always off working on something. I'm just lucky because what I'm working on just also happens to be what I love to do.

Day 1212: Vlogging Up a Storm

While I definitely love and appreciate when you all watch my vlogs, such as the latest one above, there are tons of people out there who inspire me to keep vlogging through Disney vlogs of their own. It's kind of great, because on a certain level we inspire each other to keep going even when the weather gets hot, the crowds get...well, crowded, and the days get long. And then, when we all get back home, we get to experience Disney through each other's eyes. What you see in my vlogs will be entirely different from any other vlogger, and that's one of the best things about this form of blogging. Just as we each have a different writing style, we have various vlogging styles too! 

So, to inspire you, here are a few of my favorite Disney vloggers: 

If you haven't checked out Spokesmayne yet, let me tell you: you're missing out. He takes some of the absolute best quality footage of Walt Disney World and is a natural on the vlogging screen. I consistently find myself eagerly awaiting his next video, and I'm sure you will too! 

While not necessarily your traditional vlog format, danimaroo does some of the most adorable Disney videos on the internet. She puts a ton of work into each of these, and the result is completely worth it!

Also high on my list, OhYeahDisney. I don't remember exactly when I stumbled upon their YouTube channel, but they consistently put out new videos every week and are definitely worth a watch and a subscription!

And finally I must mention some friends of mine over at Wdw Laughin Place. These two have been watching my own vlogs for ages, and now they've started their own successful YouTube channel with all sorts of magical vlogs! I love to watch them while eating my breakfast because it provides the most magical start to my day possible! 

Unfortunately I don't have a ton of time these days to watch every YouTube video, but as far as vlogging specifically goes, you can't beat this group of Disney YouTubers! And like I said, they're all unique, so I'm sure there's something to relate to. But honestly, the best way to find your own favorite Disney Vlogger is to just keep watching. There's all kinds of us out there, and we're quite the bunch, so just hit play!

Day 947: Videos, Videos, and...More Videos

When I first decided to do weekly Disney inspired videos this summer, I sort of thought I was out of my mind. Granted, I knew I had a whole summers worth of trip vlogs that needed to go live eventually, and without a job I figured it was now or never, but I guess I couldn't have expected how simultaneously easy and difficult such an endeavor would be.

It's time consuming, that's for sure. On average, I'll probably spend at least three hours a week on a video, depending on how easily the idea comes, how long it takes to actually film it, and how many technical issues I run into while editing. This week, however, I've spent a solid two and a half days just working on editing videos, and at this point I'm pretty sick of staring at my computer screen. So of course, here I am, still sitting at my computer, writing a blog post. Regardless, this week was filled with so many videos largely due to the fact that I leave for Disneyland in less than a week and I don't want to have to worry about those new videos while I'm gone. So I'm happy to say that the next two weeks of videos are all up and ready to go. Thank goodness.

But I also don't think I realized the crazy things I would end up doing to film a YouTube video. Like when I ended up putting twigs in my hair for the Disney Hairstyle Video, or many of the things you'll see in upcoming weeks. But since I'll be at Disneyland, here's a quick preview of the videos you'll be able to find on my YouTube channel this month:

This Friday, head over to my channel to see what Disney Fans Do Before Disney. We all love to travel to the parks, and we all have this list of things we must do before actually leaving for a magical trip. These are just a few of those things.

Day 4 of my June trip to Walt Disney World will go live next Tuesday, and this time it's all about the Four Parks, One Day Challenge! Also, if you were around for the Tower of Terror video back in June, you'll remember that video of me screaming. Yeah, the extended edition is in this one!

In honor of my trip to Disneyland, on August 14th I'll share some of my favorite DisneyBounds with you, as well as give you an inside look at two of my OUAT DisneyBounds and Three outfits I have planned for my Disneyland trip!

The concluding day of my June trip to Walt Disney World was a short one, but that doesn't mean it's not filled with Disney magic, in this case, in the form of Epcot! 

And finally, on August 21, check in for my version of The Disney Tag, featuring questions that, unlike those in my Frequently Asked Disney Questions video, you might not get quite as often! 

After this set of videos concludes, don't think things are stopping though! Following the conclusion of my June Vlogs I'll have a blooper video from my January trip and then we head over to Disneyland for a whole new set of vlogs!

Day 318: Vlogs

Over the past couple of days...well, yesterday and today...I've been in the mood to go and rewatch my vlogs. I don't really know why but that's what I've been doing. Yesterday while working on homework and today while working on making up some of the blog posts I'm missing from the last few weeks. It works out pretty well just because I can have the videos play on Youtube while I write stuff and I just split the screen and I can do both. No problem.

So I figured I would share which of my vlogs are my favorites. I know it's kind of hard to pick specific favorites because I do love all of them. It's nice to be able to go back and watch the videos from my vacations to Disney, especially when I'm missing home like I have been for the past few days.

Anyways, here are just a couple of my favorite vlogs that I've made during my past two trips to WDW:

While I absolutely hate the quality of the entire first trip of vlogs, I have to include a couple of them, and one of my all time favorites is this one: the original vlog. That's right, this was the very first Disney vlog I made, and now I've got a whole bunch that I can watch. Why do I love this one? Well, it holds new experiences for me, we meet Walt, my brother is hilarious and it's just overall great. Oh...and the blue screen theory. 

Day five of that trip was pretty awesome too. I mean, we see the behinds the scenes stuff that doesn't include Harrison Ford (I have no idea why), see Indiana Jones and play high speed ping pong! And I beat my brother...which is always fun. 

This actually happens to be the vlog I'm watching as I write this post, and felt that it should be in here because it does make me laugh and has Canadian music and Star Tours and my brother is hilarious, as usual. Oh, and we go to Be Our Guest for the very first time. 

As much as I hated not getting to Disney on time, I do love this vlog. I mean, just the fact that I watch the sunset over the Magic Kingdom, and my brother being all interesting as we were waiting in the airports for stuff, and wishes at the end, and how we were on the 16th floor on Bay Lake Tower all leads to awesomeness. 

On the fourth day of my last trip I went a lot of places, but I included this because the end of that day was seriously one of the best endings I've had in a while (although I think the other one probably tops it). Either way, this vlog holds a lot of great memories...plus the entire Main Street Electrical Parade is in it, so that's pretty awesome too. 

This vlog just makes me happy in general. I mean, with the whole Harrison Ford thing and me being a Galactic Hero AGAIN (and then singing a song about it), it's just a wonderful video. 

I'll be honest, there's nothing quite like spending your birthday at Walt Disney World, so this vlog certainly holds a special place in my heart just because of that. But then there's the fact that I ended my birthday in the best possible way...staying in the Magic Kingdom until after hours and then being the last people out after basically seeing the Kiss Goodnight presented just for us. And then my brother is absolutely hilarious. Yes Jonny...that is a leafy bush. 

That about rounds it out, although I still have about 7 vlogs left to watch tomorrow since I'm still not finished. It is midnight though, or almost, and if I don't get this blog post finished before the strike of twelve I have to change the date and time and it just gets annoying! 

 

Frumpstagram threw me for a loop today. The prompt was "Pineapple Princess," which seems fine, except I have three problems: (1) I'm allergic to Pineapple; (2) I'm also lactose intolerant...meaning very few dole whips for me; (3) I have no pictures of the Polynesian WHATSOEVER. I know, terrible. So instead I found the Poly in the Birnbaum Guide to Walt Disney World. That counts, right?

Here's today's Disney History: 1964: Actor Patrick Warburton, the voices of Alien Cop in Chicken Little and Patrick in Home on the Range, is born in Paterson, New Jersey. His Disney credits also include Sky High, the Emperor's New Groove and Kim Possible: The Secret Files. He also supplies the voice for Buzz Lightyear (a Toy Story character usually associated with Tim Allen) for the TV series and video games. Warburton is featured in the "preboarding" film shown to guests at Soarin' Over California in Disney's California Adventure Park and Soarin' in Florida's Epcot.

Day 230: Just a Few Days

You know, in just a few days I'll be moving into my college dorm room and get ready to start my Freshman year. That's absolutely crazy considering I feel like the school year just ended and that it isn't anywhere near the right time to be starting school again. I suppose that's what I get for doing so much this summer. Still, it has been one of the best summers ever, and why not let it go with a bang!

Actually, I'm not sure how it's going to go out with a bang, other than the fact that I have three days and a LOT to do in those three days. I have to finish packing and make a few other things for my room, and buy some food, and finish updating this blog and edit two more vlogs from my Disney trip (so I can go back and make up those last three from July), read Ender's Game, go for a nice long drive with one of my friends, spend a bit of time with my other two friends, wrap presents for people (I suppose ONE could wait, but we'll see), practice for Wind Ensemble and Jazz auditions, copy my Pep Band Music so I have a copy for myself when I go back to play Pep Band, go out for sushi with my brother (and maybe see Planes?), Transfer and organize some pictures to my laptop, reorganize my Google Drive AND make a record book for 4H. Yeah, I guess you could say I have a lot to get done these next three days.

But I suppose somehow I'll do it all. Quite honestly I'm not sure HOW I'm going to do it all (Ender's Game may have to wait... =( ), but I'm certainly going to try!

Which brings me to my current thought, and the topic of today's blog post. You see, when we go to Disney World or Disneyland, most of us only have a few days there, if that. Sometimes it may only be hours! So what is it that we do? What becomes the most important thing? Or do we try to fit as much as possible into the little time that we have?

I guess that before I did my vlogs I was more high-strung to go on the attractions, but since I've been vlogging, it's offered me an opportunity to go off and find new things, or showcase attractions or experiences I haven't seen in a long long time. I go slower, or have a list of things that I really want to do, and then I try to go do those, like on my bucket list back in November. I had a mission to do all of those things, and for the most part, I did them all. It may seem impossible, but we still end up doing it, because we're going to love it more in the long run.

So I suppose that's what I'm going to try and do these next few days. Part of me says "Slow down and enjoy your last few days" but the other part of me knows that if I do, then all this stuff won't get done and that just WILL NOT END WELL. Plus, it's not like I'm working all the time. A lot of those things on that list involve my friends and family, and things that I want to do with them before I leave.

Day 215: Vlogumentary

I'm sure many of you have heard me talk about Youtube. Actually, if you've followed this blog for any length of time, you'll know that I do indeed spend a LOT of time on the site. I follow multiple daily vloggers, including ApprenticeEh, WheezyWaiter, and CTFxC, as well as channels such as VlogBrothers.

And that's why at the moment, I am ABSOLUTELY excited to share with you the trailer for the new documentary, "Vlogumentary."

Now, I've been really busy these past few months, and I mean REALLY busy, and I know that this last month of the summer is going to be ridiculous as well. So, in other words, I haven't had as much time as I normally would like to sit and watch all of my Youtubers. But this video, this trailer, really reminded me of why I love Youtube. Why I am a member of the community and how much of an impact it has made in my life. 

Youtube, for me, came into my life in a time really when I needed it. I was going into my senior year of high school, and everything was changing. In fact, it was all changing a little too fast for my liking. But every night I could go home and right before bed, I could watch my favorite Youtubers and learn about how their lives were going. Sometimes it was a new Star Wars video from ApprenticeA, or a wacky discussion between John and Hank. But no matter what it was, it made me happy, and always ended my day the right way. 

But because I've been busy, that's been missing, and watching this video reminded me that I should watch again, that I should make the time each night to bring Youtube back into my life, and over the next few weeks I'm going to do just that. I want to get back into the habit of it, because even just sitting and catching up with ApprenticeEh today made my day so much brighter. 

I also realized that a while back, in my English class this past year, we were watching some VlogBrothers because we read The Fault In Our Stars and our teacher felt it was a good idea for us to watch some John Green. My best friend and I, along with a couple of my other friends, loved it, and relished in the fact that we had seen the videos before and so on and so forth. The other side of the class though, just didn't get it. They were like "What's so funny? Why are they laughing?" And you know, I realized when watching this trailer WHY they said that. They are not a part of the amazing community called Youtube, one that I'm proud to say I'm a part of, and quite honestly, I wish they would have a chance to discover it like I did. It's kind of like how I wish that everyone would have the ability to have a Disney vacation. It's something that's a once in a lifetime experience. I mean, that's really what finding your first Youtube channel that you follow is like. And then you're introduced into the community and you meet friends that you would otherwise never have. It's truly amazing, it really is. 

Please share the Vlogumentary trailer! I am so proud of everyone who has put time and effort into it and I can't wait to see the finished product. Oh, and Corey, if you do ever read this, I'm so happy to see the Green Screen!!!

Day 195: Pictures Galore!

Another day of Disney, another topic to discuss about my latest trip!

This time, we'll do a bit of an update on the Official July '13 Disney Challenge. I'll eventually have a final post to wrap it up, but even now (August 19) I'm still not finished with the last like 6 pictures. I'm SOOOO close to having them done though. And I do plan on finishing them. It's just kind of difficult at the moment because I'm so busy.

Either way, the challenge went over great for this trip, even as it was shorter! It'll probably be my last challenge for a while too because if I do go with Band the next time that will just be a challenge in itself. Still, challenges are ALWAYS fun to do, and this one was especially...other than the fact that I did spend a lot of time on Instagram. Still, it made for a lot of wonderful pictures to go along with my trip!

So I figured that I'd share a collection of the pictures here!

Of course, there are over a hundred pictures just from this trip on my Instagram, so if you'd like to see all of them you can go check there. I haven't posted anywhere near as much since I returned, so even if you're reading this later it shouldn't be hard to find! 

I love taking pictures at Disney, and sure wish I could just spend like a few days taking pictures of things. Like just taking a camera and going from one thing to another. Not necessarily going on anything. Just taking pictures. That would be great. Of course, we all know that's pretty much impossible because I'm never at Disney anywhere near long enough to do something like that. But maybe someday. =)

Day 173: An Interesting Schedule

If you haven't already noticed, there has been an interesting lapse in my blog posts for the past couple of weeks, and what will be the next couple of weeks. Actually, I'm writing this on July 1st, since I've spent the last two days updating those blog posts that I missed, because at the end of the year I really do want to have 365 blog posts. It is Everyday Disney, and there's always something Disney inspired going on, it's just sometimes I really am not home, or I don't have access to a computer, or I seriously don't have time. So I apologize for not having been around, and for not keeping things updated.

In fact, this blog post marks the day before I will have gone to camp, and obviously I'm back now. The next week of posts was written largely in a notebook and then typed up when I got back home! And the past week was written today based on things that were indeed going on at the time when I would have been writing it. So in other words, the posts are still legitimate, they're just late too.

BUT, on the bright side, my Disney trip is coming up soon, and we all know what that means! It means that I am going to spend 8 days at Disney vlogging and doing challenges and living out the dream that is Walt Disney World. I know a friend of mine is almost as exciting as I am just because she gets to watch my videos. I thought that was pretty funny, but it makes sense, because I'm super excited to make them!

Before I do leave though, and as you will see over the week of July 1st, I am going to be a VERY busy person. Still, I fully plan on continuing to update the blog, even if I have to turn my laptop on special at midnight to write it! It will get done!!!!

On the off chance that something does happen and I really am unable to write a post, I promise I'll make it up. I have so far, so why wouldn't I continue to do so now?

Day 135: What to write about?

Today is just one of those days where I have absolutely no idea what to write about. I really have no clue.

Sometimes, when I have no idea what to write about I go on Pinterest, and I look there, because often times I can find something on one of my Disney boards, and I looked, and I eventually found this...but this post is about what I do when I can't figure out what to write about, so I'll just do a short bit on it.

I found this pin a while ago, and it now sits on my "Laugh Floor" board, which is my Disney humor (yes, I like to do epic names for each board...even if it confuses others). Now, while it's Disneyland and not Disney World, I really think it goes for all the Disney Parks. One can't just go to Disney and not be in a state of eternal despair when they leave. It's just not possible.

And sometimes, when I can't come up with the post, I'll go to Youtube, as you very well know. Yesterday I posted one of my Disney trip vlogs, which I plan on continuing when I go in July. Either way, whenever I pull one of these up, I end up watching a whole bunch of them just because it's like "Hey! You were at Disney! Remember when you were happy?" (Note: Refer to above picture). I was watching one of them with one of my friends the other day, and we decided that they're pretty entertaining mostly because of two things: My brother and my voice. It seems I have a good, hilarious voice for doing such things. Granted, it's also pretty funny when my brother hits his face on the camera. Either way, I can't wait to do more videos come July. If you have any ideas on what I should include this next trip, let me know and I'l do my best to include them!

But by far the thing I write about the most when it comes to my blog is just how Disney is randomly in my everyday life. It happens ALL THE TIME, which is probably pretty obvious since I've been doing this for over four months now. Disney seems to always be around, which I think is pretty cool, and there are plenty of ways that it's in my life that I haven't even begun to talk about yet. There's just too many! Good thing I have the rest of the year to go on and on and on! Hopefully you'll stick with me! 

And that's what it's like when I try to come up with the topics for these blog posts. It doesn't always work, and there are probably a ton of other ways I come up with ideas (randomly looking at Disney maps included). I mean, there's band and all the craziness that comes up with that, my brother, my family, my bedroom, my friends, school and just basically life. But, as we all know, Everyday is a Disney day anyway!

Here's today's Disney History: 1998: Bill Nye - one of the syndicated television show Disney Presents Bill Nye the Science Guy - wins a Daytime Emmy for Performer in a Children's Series.

Day 100: 100?

It's really been 100 days already since I started this!?!

Honestly, I'm finding it pretty crazy to think that I've been doing this for over three months now. This is the longest I've done any sort of blogging, and it's the first time one of my New Years Resolutions actually worked! Granted, I have some free time each morning that I use to write these posts, and over the summer I'll hopefully have plenty of Disney adventures to share, so it really isn't too difficult to keep going (other than the fact that I don't have a laptop currently and my home computer's sound card is broken!). And in college there's an hour each morning where I can go through and do all the Disney stuff...so I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

Of course, big milestones like this always make me wonder if I'm going to continue writing after the year is up, and as of right now, I have to say I hope so. I've already come so far, and I can't wait to keep going! Maybe someday I'll learn HTML and make it easier to actually modify my site (although I think it looks pretty good right now, don't you think?).

Either way, I have to say that I'm quite proud of having done 100 days...even if I had a few days to go back and make up every once and a while. It's still awesome in my mind!

Next project?

Once I have a computer again, I know I want to do some vlogging...like actually vlogging on my Youtube channel. It sounds like a fun and unique way to showcase how Disney really does impact my everyday life. Of course, my brother and I are always discussing and planning for our trip in July, and the vlogs that accompany that (we already have some great stuff planned!), so I'm sure there's going to be a lot when that comes around.

But for now, here's today's Disney History: 1988: Disneyland's America Sings closes in Tomorrowland at the end of this day. A 24-minute patriotic musical production that included over 100 characters (the biggest Audio Animatronics cast ever assembled for the Disneyland attraction at this time) has been in operation since June 1974. America Sings used the same Carousel Theater that its predecessor Carousel of Progress had. Many of the America Sings characters will later be placed in Critter Country and the Splash Mountain attraction. The Carousel Theater will be used as office space for the next ten years before finally being replaced by Innoventions, a version of the Epcot attraction.
