Day 1471: Carrie Fisher Tribute

It's only been a couple of weeks since we all lost the wonderful Carrie Fisher and her spectacular mother, Debbie Reynolds, and the wounds are certainly still fresh. This Saturday, however, fans from near and far will be gathering at Hollywood Studios to celebrate the lives of these amazing women, and there's plenty for you to get involved in if you're in the area!

You can find all the official information on the event HERE on the Facebook Event Page, but here are just a few of the highlights:

Throughout the day guests will be DisneyBounding their favorite Carrie and Debbie characters, from Princess Leia to Kathy Selden, and you're welcome to join in too! Wear a DisneyBound (being mindful of the costume rules) or dress in your Dapper Best for the event! A group photo will be taken at 2 pm in the courtyard of the Chinese Theater!

Group Rides on Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride are scheduled during the day as well. It's suggested that you get fastpasses for these experiences as well, but something tells me that riding Star Tours with a bunch of Carrie Fisher fans would be pretty entertaining!

Participate in the Group Viewing of 'Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away' at 3:30 in front of the courtyard stage. Again, this sounds like it would be pretty excited when surrounded by fans just like you!

Finish off the evening with a Lightsaber Vigil! Similar to the event held at Downtown Disney at Disneyland recently, the lightsaber vigil will take place in front of the courtyard stage, with Disney presenting favorite Carrie moments on the courtyard screen! Help us pay tribute to Carrie and Debbie in the best way we know how!

Luckily, I'll be attending select portions of the tribute event to celebrate Carrie and Debbie and to help film a tribute video! Information on the filming and how you can be a part of it will be available on the Facebook page and I will share that information here as well when it is available!

I hope to see many of you on Saturday as we celebrate the lives of these women gone too soon! Let's make it an event they'd be proud of!

Have a magical day!

Day 1163: Missing a Month

Unfortunately, due to traveling, concerts, and classes, I'm obviously not participating in the March Disneybound Challenge this year, a decision that definitely gives me a bit of extra time in the mornings since I don't need to think about what I'm wearing all the time, but also sort of makes me sad. I love doing the Disneybound Challenge, and as a part of the Disneybound group on Facebook, I absolutely adore seeing everyone's outfits!

So, to give myself a bit of cheer today, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at some of my favorite Disneybounds from last year's challenge!

One of my favorite parts about Disneybounding is the opportunity to do some less common outfits, like Russel or Carl from Up or Iago from Aladdin. But more than anything, it's an exercise for both my creativity and my closet as I go through the various options. Some things are definitely used more than others, like my yellow Converse that make multiple appearances, but in the end I usually end up using at least everything in my closet at least once!

But for now I'll have to stick to a regular t-shirt and jeans combo to get me through my days. Maybe later this year we'll go for a month of Disneybound though!

Have a magical day!

Day 1070: Killian, Killian Jones

I take some comfort in the fact that I'm writing this so long after the initial mid-season finale of Once Upon A Time that I no longer have to worry about spoilers getting out. I mean, after all, I'm pretty sure we all know by now who dies.

But just in case you don't, you probably shouldn't read any more.

Regardless, the end of another half season of my favorite show calls for a roundup of the DisneyBounds that helped make Season 5 so interesting! I went back to a few old favorite characters here, but for the most part it was all about the new and original characters that were brought into the storyline this season!

Since #DarkSwan seemed to be the theme this season, we had to begin with a DisneyBound inspired by our favorite hero turned dark! I actually LOVED putting this one together, and the shoes are to die for. I still call them my "Dark Swan Heels," and ironically enough, that's just about all I bought to put this outfit together! Everything else was already in my closet!

King Arthur, oh King Arthur. To be honest, I love Liam, but I could do without this supposedly "noble" king. Either way, this DisneyBound brought some interesting additions into my closet, like the cardigan that I now wear all the time or a pair of bright silver shoes!

Lancelot has been one of my favorite characters since we saw him in Season Two, and I was thrilled to see him back on the screen again (and not dead)! For this one I reused those shoes I found for Arthur and added a bright blue shirt and red belt to go along with his crest and colors, as well as my grey leather jacket to symbolize his armor!

I've only ever done a Rumpelstiltskin bound one other time, and this time I had the perfect pants to go along with it! Reusing the Dark Swan Heels and pairing it with a black vest and golden shirt really made this one work out pretty well!

When I saw Emma in her dress in Camelot I knew immediately that a DisneyBound had to be in the works. All it took was locating a flower crown to make this one work, and it offered the perfect contrast between Light and Dark Swan for this season!

Merida was actually my first ever DisneyBound way back in the day, so to be able to revisit her character for a DisneyBound for the show was an opportunity I was certainly excited about! The only problem is her color scheme is pretty hard to be creative with, but at the same time, I love her hair, and I already had the accessories pulled together to make this one work!

Merlin quickly became a favorite character, and ironically enough, I bought the perfect shirt for his DisneyBound years ago. It's been in my closet ever since, and I actually almost got rid of it once. Still, something told me to keep it, and now I'm really glad I did!

An entire episode dedicated to Brave definitely called for another DisneyBound from the characters! After a bit of debating, I just knew it had to be her mother, especially since I already had the perfect green dress to make it work!

It's kind of hard to pick favorites when you love DisneyBounding OUAT so much, but this one may just be my favorite of all time. I may or may not have picked my glasses a few months ago so they'd match Emma's from the show, and when I came across the plaid dress at the store a few months ago, I knew it had to come home. Pretty sure I'll be wearing this one again, preferably to a fan event of some sort!

And to round out this half of the season, it just had to be Papa Hook! We've been waiting for so long to meet Killian's father, and when we found out we'd be meeting him in the midseason finale I had to make the decision between a Dark Hook DisneyBound and Papa Hook. As you can see, the later won, allowing for me to reuse the shirt from Rumple as well as an old pair of pants I also got for OUAT DisneyBounds!

But honestly, DisneyBounds aside, I cried a lot, and I'm definitely ready to head to the underworld so we can get Killian back. In the meantime, I'll just be over here eagerly awaiting his return, because really, how long can any of us live without a bit of Hook in our lives?

Have a magical day!

Day 1029: What We Wear

If you've been following for a while, you know can probably tell that I spent a good amount of time thinking about my wardrobe. When I completely revamped my entire closet a couple of years ago, I made it a priority to incorporate color and pieces of clothing that could be used for outfit after outfit, especially in regards to DisneyBounding.

And yet, when I was trying to figure out what to wear to the Twin Cities Film Festival, I looked in my closet and realized that I had absolutely nothing to wear.

Which led me to thinking about the important outfits that have been a part of my life...or rather, the outfits I was wearing when really important things may have happened. For instance, we did have my outfit from the Twin Cities Film Festival, which consisted of a midi tule skirt from Charlotte Russe, a plain black long-sleeve shirt, some killer heels (really...they killed me after seven hours of wearing them), and a little bit of Hook flair in the form of a Hook necklace (Colin, I hope you appreciated that touch!)

But even before that, there have been some outfits that will forever live on in my memory as "the outfit I was wearing when this happened." Here are a few more examples:

This was definitely an important outfit of my life...after all...it's how I got on Buzzfeed!

I don't think I realized back in 2013 just how much one red leather jacket would impact my life. Honestly, I think after I got that jacket, that's when the OUAT world really started to turn into a complete whirlwind. I'm so thankful for everything that red leather has brought me, from roommates, to TCFF, to meeting tons of awesome people at D23, and right back to my own living room where I sit every Sunday awaiting more Emma Swan.

When I picked what to wear to Alton Brown's show, I knew completely that I was picking something that I'd look back at for a really, really, really long time. I'm still happy with my choices, and I wear that outfit pretty frequently.

My Hook outfit doesn't really hold any importance, but I just like it. So it's on this list.

I really enjoyed this DisneyBound back in the day...and it just so happens that this was the outfit I was wearing when I found out that my High School Band would be performing at Walt Disney World!

And finally, I just have to include my Epcot gear, because this stuff, especially the sweatshirt, has gotten me through a lot of important life events. It's definitely still one of my favorite pieces of clothing, and it comes on every Disney trip with me...because a trip without the Epcot Sweatshirt would just be wrong.

Do you have any important outfits in your life?

Have a magical day!

Day 1017: Procrastination

Now that you've spent a bunch of time watching videos of kittens reenacting Disney movies and laughed at Disney Memes featuring Grumpy Cat, what other ways to procrastinate are there? Since we're Disney fans, you have to do it the Disney way too...so here are a few suggestions:

Plan an Elaborate Disney Vacation You Can't Afford

We all want to stay in the best suite at The Grand Floridian, go on private fireworks cruises, eat at V&A, drink around the world, and buy everything in every story, all while spending about a year at Walt Disney World, right? Alright, even if you're not that extreme, you can definitely spend a good amount of time planning your very own perfect Disney vacation.

Sing Along Obnoxiously to Disney Songs

Your roommates won't get frustrated with you singing Let It Go at the top of your lungs, will they?

Reorganize Your Disney Collection

There just has to be a better way for all your Disney stuff to fit on that shelf.

Make a Christmas or Birthday List of all the Merch

Speaking of Disney Stuff...go out and find some of your favorite gift ideas...for yourself...

Look at Pictures From Your Last Disney Trip and Cry

Or every Disney trip. So many memories, so many tears, so little time at Disney World.

Start a Daily Blog on Disney

Wait a minute...

Watch a ton of Disney Videos on YouTube

There's more than cats you know...

Go Through Your Closet and Find Every DisneyBound

Merida, Peter Pan, Emma Swan, Captain Hook (x3), Han Solo, The Blue Fairy...this could go on forever.

Find Other Ways to Procrastinate

Honestly I'm just procrastinating right now...so I should probably get back to my own work.

Day 995: Getting Closer...

You have to admit that I've been pretty calm about waiting for OUAT over this entire Hiatus. I suppose it has something to do with how much I traveled, and especially lately, how busy I've been, but that doesn't mean I haven't been completely ready for the premiere this Sunday, September 27. All summer long we've slowly been getting new information about this season, and especially about Dark Swan, which I'm super interested to see on screen!

In fact, here's a few things I'm excited for this Season on OUAT:

Merida:

Brave was a pretty great movie, and while she's not my favorite princess, it's going to be interesting to see how she plays into the storyline. I know a sneak peek that was already shown feautred Emma needing the Whisps to get rid of the darkness inside of her, but something tells me it can't be that easy. Regardless, it looks already like Merida will have a ton of adventures during Season 5, so get ready for some real bravery!

Camelot:

About halfway through Season 4 I have this gut feeling that we were going to Camelot. A lot of Oncers have talked about it for years, wondering just when they'd finally incorporate Merlin, Arthur, and the entire gang. After all, Lancelot was in Season 2 (and I'm absolutely ready to see him back!), so it was only a matter of time. Specifically, I'm really excited for King Arthur...even if I am kind of skeptical about this "bromance" that he'll have with Charming. No one messes with my BrOTP of CaptainCharming!

Hook (and Emma too!):

Speaking of Captains, OF COURSE I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in the love story that is CaptainSwan. I have some pretty high expectations for this season in that department, and from the sounds of it, we won't be let down in the premiere. There's tons of articles out there if you really want to go read one and find out more, but I won't share anything! I've shared too much already!

Dark Swan:

Of course, as I mentioned before, the big news this season is Dark Swan. I know Jennifer Morrison spent a lot of her time off from filming working with Adam and Eddy doing research on how to develop Emma as the Dark One, and I, for one, am very ready to see that hard work pay off. As a lover of fairy tales, I'm sure I'll have my work cut out for me as we learn new information and new references are added into the tale, but it will be oh so worth it!

DisneyBounding:

And finally, I have to mention that my OUAT DisneyBounds continue this season, and while I'm a bit behind on what I'm going to do, I am excited for, especially, my first outfit! Here's a sneak peek, just to give you an idea:

Dark Swan is coming everyone! Get ready! Once Upon A Time returns to ABC this Sunday, September 27, at 8/7 central! Will you be watching?

Have a magical day!

Day 938: Just Like TV

I've never really thought about it before, but with binge watching Friends, I've been thinking a lot about the titles of episodes. I famously know the titles to basically every episode of Once Upon A Time, going through and basically memorizing them as they're released...although that has more to do with figuring out DisneyBounds than it does being a crazy fangirl. Each title definitely tells us something about what could be happening in that episode. One of the more frequent questions I get with those OUAT DisneyBounds is how I always know which character to do for an episode, and I'm telling you right now that about half of it has to do with the title of the episode. Here are some examples:

For Episode 3x17, the title was "The Jolly Roger," signaling to me right away that the episode probably had something to do with my favorite pirate. But because I had already done a DisneyBound as Hook earlier in the season, I brought back his Naval uniform for a Killian Jones DisneyBound. Not directly related to what was happening in the episode, as the uniform was from 3x05 (Good Form), but definitely still related to Hook on so many levels. It also happens to be one of my favorites that I've done!

Another quick example is definitely 4x14: "Enter the Dragon," of course, we all knew it was going to have something to do with Maleficent, but I wanted to save that DisneyBound for later on in the season (and it worked out well as I used Maleficent for 4x20, "Mother"), so instead I went back to Maleficent's routes and DisneyBounded as Aurora! Perfect timing for it too as this is one of the last times we've seen the Princess on the show!

Anyway, back to the point of the blog post. If you guys know Friends, then you'll know that every title is something like "The One With..." and then includes various elements relating to that specific episode. It's great because when there's an episode where Monica decides to make Jam, it's called "The One with the Jam," and everyone automatically knows what you're talking about. But what occurred to me this morning is the idea that, on TV shows, every episode has a different title. It never repeats, and it's always telling you something about what's to come. And do you know what that sounded like to me?

This blog.

Even here on Day 938, every single blog post has a different title. Some of them are definitely similar, but it never officially repeats. Not even posts about things such as the Everyday Disney Challenge have the same title. At most, every so often you'll have a collection of series, in which there will be a Volume Number that comes before the title, but other than that, everything is different, and over the past two and a have years there's definitely been some weird titles...

Day 1: The Beginning...Of Your Future
Day 45: The "Harrison Ford Sit"
Day 61: Music, Music & Pigs?
Day 90: TRONorail, Avengerail, Iron Man 3-orail?
Day 121: Indy & Diet Coke
Day 136: Indiana Jones...the Fourth One
Day 235: A Room in a Dorm
Day 246: Once Upon a Really Long Wait
Day 253: #SaveTheBooks
Day 290: Midterms, Coffee and Awesomeness
Day 362: I am Emma Swan
Day 368: It's Super Cold
Day 428: Frozen is an Open Door
Day 458: This Isn't Disney Food!
Day 476: What Happened in April?
Day 562: Wait...what?
Day 633: The Great Pocahontas Debate
Day 650: Getting Spookyish
Day 685: Lizzie Watches Her Vlogs
Day 727: #LiquifiedLaptop
Day 775: The Copy Room
Day 799: In the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room
Day 806: Sláinte
Day 932: Day One

Now, you're more than welcome to go back and find some of those blog posts to see what they're actually about, but I have to say that even just going through them and picking out a few to include here really reminded me of 1. How many blog posts I have and 2. The variety of topics I've included in the two and a hafl years of Everyday Disney. Then again, we're almost to Day 1000, which seems half impossible. I still remember day 100, and now it's been almost 900 days since then. Crazy.

Have a magical day!

Day 860: Operation Mongoose

Technically, by the time I'm writing this, I've had plenty of time to cool myself off after the Season 4 finale of Once Upon A Time, and maybe you should be glad about that. Those who watched with me can attest to the fact that I was pretty much going insane. But that's what happens when YOUR FAVORITE CHARACTER DIES AND THEN COMES BACK TO LIFE. I can't even imagine what it's like for those of you that have favorite chracters that die for good.

And that's not even mentioning the fact that someone decided it would be a good idea to sacrifice herself after telling someone else she loves him. What is this anyway? Star Wars? Han and Leia? Haha.

That's not what we're here to talk about though, despite the fact that I adored the reference to Chewbacca in the second hour of the finale. The fact that it made Hook Han Solo basically made my day, but that's still beside the point. What happens at the end of every half season of OUAT for sure around here? DisneyBound Round Up! I have to say, this half of the season was my most successful yet, and I'm absolutely proud of how they all worked out. So without further ado, let's go through this week by week:

Episode 4x12: Darkness On the Edge of Town: Cruella

I like to start off each season (or half season) with something a little over the top. The beginning of Season 4 brought Elsa, and once we found out that Cruella would be around I just HAD to do a Cruella Bound! And of course, the beautiful Victoria Smurfit favorited this outfit!

Episode 4x13: Unforgiven: Red

Number One character I miss from the show? Red of course! Since it was an off week with no specific character coming to the forefront, I figured I go back to Season One for a Red Riding Hood inspired DisneyBound!

Expidoe 4x14: Enter the Dragon: Aurora

While yes, it made a lot of sense to do a Maleficent DisneyBound for this week, I went off the beaten path and picked another character who has yet to grace my collectin: Aurora! And it worked out perfectly, and this happens to be one of my favorites, mostly due to the fact that I had the chance to do a quick self-photoshoot for it!

Expidoe 4x15: Pour Unfortunate Soul: Ursula

I'm not gonna lie, I do believe this was my favorite episode of the entire season. The acting was absolutely brilliant, and I mean from everyone, not just Colin! Of course, the excess of Hook may have had something to do with it, but I adored the twist on the story and had a great time DisneyBounding as OUAT's version of Ursula!

Episode 4x16: Best Laid Plans: Sneezy

Sneezy will always have a special place in my heart, as it's actually Gabe Khouth that gave me my very first OUAT Cast Interaction back in 2013! I've had this one in my back pocket for quite some time, so when I had an empty week and a cold to deal with, it seemed like the perfect chance. Of course, Gabe had to comment, and he also retweeted it!

Episode 4x17: Heart of Gold: Robin Hood in Oz

The return of Robin Hood brought a lot of us joy, so I threw together a quick Robin Hood in Oz DisneyBound to correspond with the episode! It turned out pretty well for me too though, as it led to a tweet from Sean himself!

Episode 4x18: Sympathy for the De Vil: Archie

Because I already did Cruella, I figured I would do an outfit inspired by Pongo's owner, Archie! He's actually been one of my favorite characters since Season One, so it was exciting to get to DisneyBound as him and get a tweet from Raphael himself!

Episode 4x19: Lily: Young Lily

This one was planned halfway through this half of the season (gosh that gets confusing) when I picked up this dress on a whim and Megan mentioned how much it reminded her of Lily. Of course, it wouldn't be a Lily DisneyBound without a mention from Nicole Munoz, who plays young Lily on the show!

Episode 4x20: Mother: Maleficent

Remember when I didn't DisneyBound as Maleficent earlier in the season because I was saving it for a different day? It's finally time for that one to come out and play! I can't even express how many people asked me throughout the season when I was going to do Maleficent, and it only took until the 20th episode of Season 4 to get there!

Episode 4x21 and 4x22: Operation Mongoose Parts 1 & 2

To finish off the season there was only one option: The Author! I've loved watching Patrick Fischler throughout the second half of Season 4, and I do hope he makes an appearance in the future! I think it's because I'm an English major, but I thought the character of the Author was absolutely brilliant, and the finale itself? Spectacular!

Overall, I've loved Season 4 and the Disneybounds I've had a chance to do. The attention I've gotten from Cast and Fans alike is absolutely astonishing to me. I don't think any of us had the thought that it would become what it has now, especially when I made the decision a year ago to continue the challenge into Season 4. As for Season 5? Hook will be here, I'll be here and the DisneyBounds will certainly continue forward!

Do you have a favorite of my DisneyBounds from the second half of Season 4? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a magical day!
