Day 1161: Welcome Back

It's been a long time in coming, but we finally have an official poster for Once Upon A Time that features none other than our favorite pirate captain! I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for that to happen, and while the flaming apple is a bit weird, I do suppose it fits with the underworld theme that's prominent in the second half of Season 5.

All in all, the story here is that Hook sacrificed himself for Emma and for Storybrooke, but in reality Gold just sort of screwed him over and now Emma, along with half the town apparently, is on a mission to get him back. It's funny because usually when a character dies on a show, they tend to stay dead. That's not always the case on Once, especially with all the flashbacks, but it seems that even after 300 years, Hook will still be making his way back to the world of the living, or at least that's the hope.

The first episode introduced us to the entire new arc for this second half, including a new realm: The Underworld. The red was an interesting choice, although the fact that it's literally just another Storybrooke is sort of weird. It is nice to see characters we haven't seen in a while, and to be introduced to some new ones as well. It seems many of the former inhabitants of Storybrooke have made quite the little home down there.

Oh, and I should probably say something about it being the 100th episode of the show, which is a huge milestone for something like this! While I wasn't entirely impressed with this particular episode (the writing of Regina's birthday to fit the occasion seemed a bit forced to me), I think we should definitely still be celebrating. After all, Once Upon a Time was a show that no one expected to last the first season. In fact, most expected it to be canceled early on. And yet, something worked, and now it's one of the biggest shows on TV with a huge fanbase, myself included. The fact that there's been way more than 100 Sunday nights since I watched that first episode back in 2011 is a little terrifying, but it's still a cause for some cake!

Day 1098: No Reprises

Move aside Television, Galavant's back!

In a surprise that no one saw coming, the fairy tale musical extravaganza was renewed for a second season, and this time around things are better than ever...unless you're one of the main characters. Everyone seems to be in a sticky situation as the series picks up where it left off: Galavant and Richard are on a pirate ship traveling to Richard's kingdom, Isabella is trapped by her family and their insistence that she marries her much younger cousin, Sid is stuck with the Queen and new [King], who just can't get along, and everyone else simply avoids singing the same old song over and over again.

Galavant is one of those rare gems on television. It's completely ridiculous, but it's basically a Renaissance Fairy Tale parody of our lives today, and that's great. In fact, the plotline moves quickly, but at a speed just right to keep things funny and lighthearted. And now that the show has said "Suck It, Cancellation Bear," things are even funnier.

End up in the Enchanted Forest? Perfect [say fans of OUAT]. Evil Queen? No problem. Oh wait...the "evil queen" owns a gay bar called "The Enchanted Forest?" Well then. Time for a raging musical number that will get stuck in your head for basically the rest of your life.

Prime time television will never be the same. 

And that was just the beginning. From there, some of my favorite moments including jokes about pirates, cell phone reception, King Richard in general, boredom, and this line that perfectly describes my entire life: 

Long story short, Galavant is back and it's better than ever. It kills me that, while I'm gonna be happy to be in Florida, I'll miss the next two weeks of Galavant. At least I'll be back for the finale though! YOU can watch Galavant Sunday nights at 7 on ABC, and I highly recommend you do! You won't regret it!

I'm always proud of the Disney that makes its way into my on campus housing, and this year, with extra space, a little bit of extra Disney appeared all over the place. I'm pretty darn proud of how it all turned out, especially our kitchen, which features what I like to call "The Kitchen Kabaret Pals."

How can I not be proud of the fact that my blog, which started out as a New Year's Resolution in 2013, hit 1000 posts this year. After all, this is the biggest milestone we'll hit in a long while, and the fact that I'm still doing this gives me hope and reassurance that something with Disney is indeed what I want to do with the rest of my life!

With so many options, such as Kylo Ren, BB-8, Finn, Rey, and Poe, there's a new character for every new and old Star Wars fan alike. Although, I think I stand with my original decision...Poe is my new favorite. Sorry everyone else, but the pilot wins again.

One of the posts that I definitely had the most fun creating this half of 2015 was this post on the ABCs of ABC, featuring some of our favorite ABC shows, such as Once Upon A Time, How to Get Away with Murder, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D! 

Despite the fact that the end of the year left me really far behind here on Everyday Disney, which resulted in me making up a ton of posts that I missed due to school work, there were certainly a few awesome posts, weren't there? As always, I can't wait to see what the next six months bring...and how many GIFs of Harrison Ford and Colin O'Donoghue somehow work their way in.

Day 1010: The ABCs of ABC

It occurred to me recently that I watch a lot of ABC shows, which I realized somewhere in the middle of my second episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when a commercial for How to Get Away With Murder came on, followed closely by an ad for OUAT. And we can't forget that The Muppets is thrown in there too. So instead of doing a "which shows you should watch" sort of post, I decided that instead I'll take my favorite ABC shows and do the ABCs of ABC!

A is for Annalise, and B is for Bonnie, two of my favorite characters on How to Get Away with Murder. I'm going to try super hard not to reveal spoilers in this article, but how about those reveals in the premiere of Season 2!?!

C is for CaptainSwan, because what else would it be for? It's become quickly apparent that the relationship between Emma Swan and Killian Jones will be playing a key part in the Fifth Season of Once Upon a Time, and I'm interested to see where it goes (as long as where it goes isn't death and destruction)...

D is for Daisy, aka Skye on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and E is for Emma Swan, two characters that have definitely gone through some intense changes in their respective shows recently! The ending of the last season of SHIELD had me on the edge of my seat, and the moments with Skye and her family broke my heart. However, seeing her called Daisy this season is pretty awesome. Meanwhile, the savior has, as I just mentioned, gone dark, and this season we're seeing a side to Emma I don't think any of us ever anticipated seeing.

F is for Fitz, who's been my favorite character on S.H.I.E.L.D. since the beginning. Everything going on with FitzSimmons breaks my heart, but seeing how determined he is to find his love is encouraging and refreshing...if not even more heartbreaking than ever.

G is for Grant Ward, who I guess was another of my favorite characters next to Fitz in Season 1 of S.H.I.E.L.D. But then he had to just go all rogue and ruin everything. Regardless, Ward is still super intriguing, even if he does seem bound and determined to reestablish Hydra.

H is for Hook, because did you really expect anything less? I don't even need to give you a description for this, but here's a GIF of him winking just for good measure:

I is for Inhuman, which is really coming into play on S.H.I.E.L.D. this season. My big question is about what kinds of powers can these people have? I mean, Lincoln has the whole electric thing going on, and Skye...I mean Daisy...can make the ground shake. But can I have like...the ability to teleport? Because that would be amazing.

J is for Jemma, who caused me so much pain at the end of the last season of S.H.I.E.L.D. You can't just go and get swallowed up by a weird piece of rock Jemma! That is not how things work!

K is for Kermit the Frog, who I'm absolutely excited to have back on TV. I do have one suggestion for the show though Mr. The Frog! Maybe get some Colin O'Donoghue going on the show? My OTP may be CaptainSwan, but you have to admit that CaptainKermit is one of the greatest things in the world:

L is for Lancelot, who is either apparently dead or not dead or something. You never really know on Once Upon A Time, but apparently we'll find out pretty soon what really happened to him. Maybe he's been in hiding, alive since Season 2! Maybe he's actually dead, killed by Cora! Either way, Lancelot will be returning to our screens this season, at least for flashbacks, so get ready for more adventures of the round table!

M is for Miss Piggy, because if I didn't include her on this list I may have to face a code red situation. I mean...why wouldn't I include her on this list? I really should have just found a way to make every single letter a picture of Miss Piggy. Gosh, what was I thinking!?! Hopefully this won't put any cake in my face or anything...

N is for Nate Lahey, an interesting side character on How to Get Away With Murder. Last season left him in jail for a crime that wasn't his own, and now he's in some weird in between zone that I honestly don't understand. Not my focus of study though, so I'll leave that to he lawyers.

O is for OutlawQueen, which has certainly had its fair share of problems over the course of the relationship. Robin and Regina certainly deserve to be together, especially after the whole really weird Zelena fiasco...

P is for Phil Coulson, the one character on S.H.I.E.L.D. that you just sort of have to love. Coulson keeps everything going, and to be completely honest, I'm really jealous of his Grumpy Cat mug...

Q is for Quinn, aka that one Once character no one ever remembers except for when you're trying to make an ABC list for ABC shows and no one else has a Q in their name much less starts with one. If you think back to Season 2, however, you might remember Quinn, one of the wolves that Ruby meets! If not, here's a picture refresher:

R is for Robin Hood, my second favorite guy on Once Upon A Time. How can you not love Sean though? I may have been strongly influenced by my Twitter friends, many of which are huge OutlawQueen shippers and Sean fans, but I can definitely see the appeal, and Sean has quickly worked his way towards the top of my want to meet list!

S  is for Sam the Eagle, our favorite American-loving Bald Eagle who develops grand tributes to all nations...but mostly America! And T is for Thompson, as in Lea Thompson, who recently guest starred on an episode of The Muppets. Definitely a great moment for us Back to the Future fans, even if Kermit didn't get as much time with her as he might have hoped.

U is for Ursula, whom I miss dearly on OUAT. Actually, I miss all of the Queens of Darkness, but probably Ursula and Cruella most of all. What a wonderful season it was with them around. I suppose, however, we have new characters this season too. V, for instance, is for Violet, a new character from Camelot who Henry seems to have developed a bit of a crush for. I hope it works out for them...or at least better than things seem to go for every other ship on the show.

W is for Wes, and I have to admit that I'm VERY curious to see where this season leads in regards to his character. I also must mention, however, that I'm a bit dissapointed with where the show may be heading, but I'll keep watching HTGAWM anyway. The plot twists definitely keep me hooked.

X is for X-Ray Eye Implant, and let me tell you, X was definitely the hardest letter on this list. Either way, on S.H.I.E.L.D. we've definitely seen a lot of technology regarding X-Ray vision! Actually just technology in general. Like really, what will they come up with next!?!

Y is for Yolanda Rat, and if you don't know who she is, just check out the picture below. I never really noticed Yolanda before the new series began, but for some reason she's just stood out to me in the few episodes we've gotten so far. She's definitely a sassy one, and I like that!

And finally, Z is for our favorite Wicked Witch of the West, Zelena. When she was around in Season 3, I quickly learned to love Rebecca Mader, and when it was announced that she would be returning for Season 5, I was absolutely thrilled! I do feel bad for all of the OutlawQueen fans who now have to deal with this whole Zelena's baby thing, but at the same time, I'm definitely sympathetic for Zelena too...and I love Bex way too much to let her go anyway.

So there you have it, the ABCs of ABC! Surprisingly, this list wasn't all that difficult, and I only referenced four of the many ABC shows you can find now! Unfortunately, as much as I want to watch and catch up on all of Castle, I don't have time for such things...so for the moment I'll just keep my energies focus on keeping up with the shows I do watch!

Day 1001: Dark Swan

Just a note that if you've yet to watch the first episode of Once Upon A Time Season 5, there will likely be spoilers ahead!

In an odd turn of events, the 1000th day of Everyday Disney actually landed on another important day in my life: the Season 5 premiere of my favorite TV Show, Once Upon A Time. To be honest, I was kind of distracted during the episode itself, but that's what happens when you live tweet on two twitter accounts, are fangirling, and trying to actually watch the episode and make connections. Luckily, I've somehow managed to determine a few favorite moments from the premiere:

While I may have missed this spectacular shot while watching live (I happened to be sending the below tweet, which ended up being favorited by Liam (Arthur) himself, so I guess it isn't a total loss, I rewatched the scene this afternoon in the only 5 minute break I've really had all day, and I have to say that it makes WAY more sense now why my friends all went "Woahhhhh" last night. I'm honestly curious to see how this all connects, but in my opinion, it's one of the most clever integrations of another story line ever on this show. I was a bit cautious as to Camelot coming on and how they would fit with everything that's happened, but the dagger being part of Excalibur absolutely restored my faith in this new Arc.

Aside from the fact that this was clearly a CaptainSwan moment, this speech from Hook was beautifully written, and took me right back to the Season 3 premiere where Emma gave a similar speech to the people now there for her as they attempted to save Henry. Even better? This time it was a former villain turned hero giving the speech to a hero turning into a villain. As backwards as that sounds, this moment for Emma was so important. For the first time in her life, here is this person really willing to stand up for her and fight for her no matter how terrible she fears she will become. Killian isn't afraid of her, and he's not going to give up on her, and that's exactly what Emma Swan needs. 

So maybe the above moment is included simply because I missed it in the episode and needed to make up for that fact by having it forever repeating on my blog. Bonus for you though! Enjoy your wink from Hook! 

Sneezy dressed up as Emma was definitely a highlight of the episode for me. I love Gabe (Sneezy), and he's a wonderful person, so to see him get a hilarious moment in the spotlight was great. The fact that he was turned to stone by the new Dark One, on the other hand, was not. I may have screamed out "NOOOO" longer than was probably acceptable.

As the first official footage any of us saw of Season 5, I remember sitting in the D23 Expo OUAT Panel room with my hand over my mouth as we watched this scene. Even last night, as I watched it again, I had the same reaction. I've never been quiet about the fact that I'm a huge fan of Colin O'Donoghue, but if you don't recognize how spectauclar his acting is in this scene, then I think you need to get your eyes checked. He so perfectly portrays the underlying hurt beneath the hard exterior we've come to expect from Hook. And yet, bits of it slip out: his lashing out at Robin, his stunned silence before he ventures to the dagger, and not even the pure want for Emma to return, but the need for her to return. It's a theme we continue to see throughout the episode, and I'm so thankful for the writing for his character so far this season. We all knew Hook would be central to Emma's Dark Storyline, but his pursuit to find his Swan is brilliant on paper, and even more spectacular when O'Donoghue brings it to life. Well done, Sir! 

Of course, I think a huge moment for all of us was the conclusion of the episode, where the Dark Swan finally appeared. There's definitely a lot left to be revealed this season, and I'm excited to see it all unwravel before our eyes. What did they do to Emma that caused her to curse them all back to Storybrooke? Where's Arthur? What happened in the last six weeks? What happens next? WE ALL NEED TO KNOW THE ANSWERS! On a side note, let's take a moment to appreicate two things: the OUAT Costume Department and Jennifer Morrison's acting. So much of the acting in this episode was so well done, and while I know I just ended with the Colin O'Donoghue praise, I think we need to think about just how different this is from the Emma we've seen in the last four seasons. In a matter of seconds, Morrison managed to send a shiver up my spine, and I had already prepared myself. Truth be told, I'm so ready to see where Dark Swan goes next, and I, as always, eagerly await the next episode.

Other honorable mentions: 

- The Wookiee Gag Mention. Just yes Hook. 

- CHIEF! As an English Major who actually really enjoyed reading Cuckoo's Nest in High School, the references to the novel whenever they enter the basement of the hospital astonish me. Cheif's presense will forever be my favorite reference in all of Once Upon A Time! 

- Zelena's storyline is sure to get interesting as we move forward, that's for sure. I definitely found compassion for her in this episode I haven't felt in some time, and I have to applaud Bex for her acting as well! 

- Pretty much everything Merida related! The poor brothers! Hopefully we'll find them! 

- King Arthur. Just King Arthur. I knew weeks before the premiere that he would be on my favorite character list, and while he only spoke a few words, I'm definitely loving Liam in the role! 

And finally, as usual, I DisneyBounded for the episode! Not surprisingly, my premiere outfit was inspired by Dark Swan, and I'm excited to share some of the other DisneyBounds I have coming up later this season!

Day 998: At the Top

Since it's the Friday before Once Upon A Time returns and I needed a video topic that wouldn't take me an eternity to film (I had an extremely busy week), I thought it would be fun to do a quick video on some of my favorite episodes of my favorite TV show. It actually ended up being really fun, and even Cardboard Colin got in on the action:

Initially, my list had 10 episodes (if you include both that make up the Season 3 finale), but I narrowed it down to the few you can see in the video. I wanted to keep it short and sweet, definitely something difficult for a Once Upon A Time fangirl to do. I have so many favorite episodes that it was hard to pick 10, much less narrow it down to even less! So here, as an exclusive here on Everyday Disney, are a few of the episodes that didn't make the cut: 

1x04: The Price of Gold

1x07: The Heart is a Lonely Hunter

3x17: The Jolly Roger

4x02: White Out

4x04: The Apprentice

I do believe there were even more than that, but off the top of my head (which is getting pretty fuzzy as I finish catching up the blog before a big occasion on Sunday!), those are the ones that I could remember debating for the list!

Day 997: The Muppets

While I didn't have a chance to watch it live, I did indeed catch the pilot episode of the new Muppets show that's on ABC! It's always a struggle when you have class during your favorite TV shows (thank goodness OUAT is on a Sunday), but I manage to keep up with things fairly well!

Anyway, I thought this first episode was hilarious, and I love that they brought back the idea of having guest stars on the show, just like in the old days. I haven't seen the last couple of seasons of the original Muppet Show, but I have seen 1-3, and it was awesome to catch little references to those episodes. I think I was mostly just excited to see them all back on the screen again. I've really grown to love the Muppets over the past several years, and I look forward to watching them weekly!

Other than the guest star thing, they really brought the Muppets into the modern world, and while I know several people are upset about the more mature content of the show, I honestly think it's been there for a while. The Muppets were never just for kids, as they were just as much for adults, and that definitely rings true in this new show.

Also refreshing? To see all our favorite, and some lesser known, Muppets back in the game! Plus there were a few new characters thrown in there too! I happened to watch the episode while eatinng lunch and I honestly couldn't even stop laughing for a while. As a member of a different generation, some of the jokes in the old show really got lost on me, but I picked up on everything in this new one. I especially loved the Gonzo line about the cuts to interviews. Priceless.

Day 995: Getting Closer...

You have to admit that I've been pretty calm about waiting for OUAT over this entire Hiatus. I suppose it has something to do with how much I traveled, and especially lately, how busy I've been, but that doesn't mean I haven't been completely ready for the premiere this Sunday, September 27. All summer long we've slowly been getting new information about this season, and especially about Dark Swan, which I'm super interested to see on screen!

In fact, here's a few things I'm excited for this Season on OUAT:

Merida: 

Brave was a pretty great movie, and while she's not my favorite princess, it's going to be interesting to see how she plays into the storyline. I know a sneak peek that was already shown feautred Emma needing the Whisps to get rid of the darkness inside of her, but something tells me it can't be that easy. Regardless, it looks already like Merida will have a ton of adventures during Season 5, so get ready for some real bravery!

Camelot: 

About halfway through Season 4 I have this gut feeling that we were going to Camelot. A lot of Oncers have talked about it for years, wondering just when they'd finally incorporate Merlin, Arthur, and the entire gang. After all, Lancelot was in Season 2 (and I'm absolutely ready to see him back!), so it was only a matter of time. Specifically, I'm really excited for King Arthur...even if I am kind of skeptical about this "bromance" that he'll have with Charming. No one messes with my BrOTP of CaptainCharming!

Hook (and Emma too!): 

Speaking of Captains, OF COURSE I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment in the love story that is CaptainSwan. I have some pretty high expectations for this season in that department, and from the sounds of it, we won't be let down in the premiere. There's tons of articles out there if you really want to go read one and find out more, but I won't share anything! I've shared too much already!

Dark Swan: 

Of course, as I mentioned before, the big news this season is Dark Swan. I know Jennifer Morrison spent a lot of her time off from filming working with Adam and Eddy doing research on how to develop Emma as the Dark One, and I, for one, am very ready to see that hard work pay off. As a lover of fairy tales, I'm sure I'll have my work cut out for me as we learn new information and new references are added into the tale, but it will be oh so worth it!

DisneyBounding: 

And finally, I have to mention that my OUAT DisneyBounds continue this season, and while I'm a bit behind on what I'm going to do, I am excited for, especially, my first outfit! Here's a sneak peek, just to give you an idea:

Day 790: Darkness At The Edge Of Town

And so it begins again.

I remember that this time last year I was simply celebrating the fact that it was March, simply because a year ago we still had a whole week to wait before the first returning episode of Once Upon A Time. Luckily, this season we're a bit spoiled with a week less of hiatus, and while it gave me one less week to put together Disneybounds, it's not stopping me!

But first, I want to mention that yes, I will be participating in the March Disneybound Challenge. I've thought about doing it in the past and just haven't, but for some reason, this year I just really wanted to. I mean, I was already doing four of the days for OUAT and since Once started back up on March 1st, it just felt like the right thing to do. So definitely keep an eye out for pictures from my March Disneybounds as well! I haven't decided if they'll be on my Instagram or not, but they'll definitely be on my Tumblr!

As for tonight's Spring Premiere of OUAT, it just had to be one of the Queens of Darkness, and who better than Cruella!?! While the fur coat is kind of big and bulky, and I really don't wear lipstick (it's a mess when you play instruments), this one was pretty darn fun to pull off. The hair, a faux bob, was a completely new attempt for me, and with only a couple of hours to make it all work, that was sort of nerve wrecking. I guess it was all worth it though, because Victoria Smurfit, who portrays Cruella on OUAT, favorited my tweet with my outfit! We're definitely on a roll with these Disneybounds!

As for the episode itself, the first one back is always a little weird for me. Spoilers are rampant in the days leading up to the premiere, and while I attempt to only read spoilers involving Hook, sometimes you just get too much of a sense of the episode. So while I loved it (and I mean LOVED it), I'm definitely looking forward to next week when I really don't know much of what's going on, even if I AM very excited about a promised Hook and Emma "heart to heart." 

It's good to be back in the OUAT habit though. I know that I mentioned to a couple of my roommates that coming in on a Sunday afternoon and at around 5 heading to our dresser area and starting on my outfit and my hair and makeup just felt so natural. Plus, when you have most of the cast live tweeting with you, as well as all your Oncer friends, everything just feels right. Your schedule has resumed and I know for sure that I have something to look forward to every weekend now, which will definitely be nice considering my busy schedule over the next couple of weeks.

Day 755: Goodbye Galavant

With the end of one thing comes the beginning of another, or at least the premiere of another.

I blogged at the beginning of Galavant, and so here I am blogging at the end of Galavant, although I certainly hope this isn't the end of the show. That cliffhanger is not one I am ok with, and I definitely need a season two because this will be ridiculous otherwise. I won't give any spoilers about what happens, but let's talk for a second about why Galavant should have a second season!

I absolutely loved the show, even if taking time off of working on other stuff made it kind of difficult for me to enjoy at times. However, the characters were definitely lovable, the music was spectacular and it was absolutely everything I could have expected and more. Plus, I don't know about you guys, but the cast is wonderful as well, 100% interactive with their fans (Karen David actually follows me on Twitter and Instagram, along with many of her other hardcore fans from the show!), and that's something I can appreciate.

In the end, the prospects of a season two are probably relatively low. While they really do need something to fill that OUAT time slot in the weeks of the hiatus where other shows are on and roaring to go, something tells me Galavant will be another show that's cut, despite the fact that they have a fair sized fanbase already built up. It sort of saddens me to see another show as brilliant and creative as this one canceled while The Bachelor and other reality shows continue to rule the world. Not that I really can complain because I'm pretty lucky. My favorite television show rocks Sunday Nights pretty much every week, and while the fanbase is absolutely ridiculous 99% of the time, they are dedicated. I'll give them that.

Which brings me to the second topic of the night, and yes, it most certainly includes Once Upon A Time. Colin O'Donoghue fans have been waiting since late December for a very special music video from Christina Perri. She is an avid fan of OUAT and a "Hooker" herself, so when the opportunity for Colin to star in her music video for "The Words," she jumped on the chance and we got the following video!

Let's be real here. This music video is basically perfection, especially in a world filled with music videos about drinking and partying. This is extremely well done, and I'm not just saying that because we got some new footage of Colin that we never, ever thought we would get. I won't even lie...I was on the floor the first time I watched this, right in the middle of Galavant because it premiered at the same time as the Galavant finale. Oh, and here's a fun fact! The house that Colin lives in in the music video is indeed the same house that Zelena lives in during Season 3 of Once Upon A Time. It's a great little easter egg even if the majority of us were a bit distracted by the Irish guy throughout the entire video. 

So thank to Christina Perri, fellow fangirl, for providing us not only with a spectacular song and music video, but more Colin O'Donoghue to hold us over until March 1!

Day 741: Galavant

Since I was at Disney during the premiere of Galavant, it meant that I had to wait until I returned home to catch up on the show that's taking the empty time slot left by my dear Once Upon A Time as it's on hiatus. This means that I have pretty high hopes for that 7 p.m. slot, and Galavant certainly hasn't let me down!

I remember first hearing about the show months ago, and of course we were reminded every Sunday night at promptly 7:47 when the Galavant commercial came on in the middle of OUAT. A while back, Karen David, the wonderful actress who portrays Isabella on Galavant, followed me on Twitter, and after that I became 100% into the show. How couldn't I when the cast was already reaching out? The cast involvement of OUAT is one of the HUGE reasons I love the show, and that means that I was quite the excited person when a member of Galavant followed me!

And after months of waiting, plus an extra week, we all finally got to see Galavant, featuring John Stamos as well! As a fan of Full House, it was great getting to see him on the show, right among tons of laughter at every turn!

I think, so far, within the first four episodes, my favorite parts came in Episodes 3 and 4, featuring the Executioners singing "Dance Dance Dance Until You Die" and the pirates in Episode 4, because who doesn't love a good pirate shanty?

Overall, the entire show is 100% hilarious, and I'm eagerly awaiting the next episodes this upcomming Sunday. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll be sad when it ends at the end of January, leaving us with full on hiatus once more. Until then though, I'll just laugh right along with the rest of the world.

If you're not watching already, please do, because this is one musical comedy you won't want to miss...and don't worry, you'll never forget the name either, because it's GALLLLLLAAAAAVANT!

Day 584: Young & Hungry

Despite what you may think, I actually don't watch brand new TV shows very often. Last season I had a bunch of new premiere shows, and in the past there is always Once Upon A Time, but for the most part I jump onto the train at a later station. It works well for me. With things like Chuck, I'm able to just binge watch all five seasons without much of a second thought, and the same rings true for Full House or How I Met Your Mother.

But once in a great while I'll start a new TV show, although I feel like this one happens to be a mix of the two scenarios, since I binge watched the first six episodes and have watched live (or recorded) since then. 

I can't really figure out just why I love Young & Hungry, but I do. It's an ABC Family show that premiered earlier this summer about a girl who becomes a private chef for a millionaire or something like that. All I know is that she bakes and cooks and so do I and that's probably why I like it for the most part, because seriously doing that for a living would be super great. 

At the same time though, the characters in the show are great. I can't really even pick a favorite or least favorite, which is totally new for me because normally I have a list after about one episode. It sounds like the rest of the internet is enjoying the show too, which means that, fingers crossed, it'll be back for a second season, although words cannot express how sad I am that next week's episode is the season finale. I still have a month left before Once! What in the world am I going to do!?!

Guess I'll just have to go watch something on Netflix...

Day 580: Sing-A-Long!

A few days ago, one of my friends introduced me to something that I missed several months ago, the GMA Frozen Sing-Along. It was sort of hard for me to watch, simply because I was still at home with limited data and internet, plus people kept interrupting me, but I did get to watch it, and boy is it worth it.

Ashley, who introduced it to me, always comments on the fact that gosh, Disney has affected so many people, and she's very right. Disney has it's way of reaching out to millions of people, and not just children. I think, on some level, we were all affected by Frozen. I know I was, despite the fact that it isn't my favorite Disney movie by a long shot. But that's ok, because it did it's job. It was successful, and we couldn't be more thankful.

So here's GMA's Epic Frozen Sing-a-long, Live!

Did I sing-a-long the first time I watched? You bet I did, although as I watch it now I'm not, simply because it would be a bit weird if I just broke out into song in my dorm room while we're all working. I do still have a smile on my face though. And maybe I'm tearing up a little bit. 

The simple fact that for a few minutes people all over the country could gather together to sing a Disney song is amazing. I wish it happened more often. 

And maybe it should.

Day 507: The Middle

I love it when TV shows go to Disney World. I mean, Full House went, and that's my favorite episode. Modern Family has gone, as has Rosanne. Actually, a lot of shows go at one point or another (although I honestly hope Once never does...that would just be weird...then again...I'll come back to this...), and it just makes me really happy. Well last night was the season finale of The Middle, and of course, they went to Walt Disney World. I recorded it so I'd be able to watch it (and this way my family can watch it tonight. I'll force them to, especially since I know my Dad likes the show).

But since I'm sitting at my kitchen counter working on catching up on blog posts, I figured I would watch it as I work (Although when Disney is on the screen that generally means more watching than working). The first half of the hour finale isn't actually really at Disney, but rather them trying to get there without dying, and eventually they get there. If you haven't seen the episode yet and wish to, I won't tell you everything that happens, but let's talk for a second about how much I love these things.

1. Disney Lingo

Seriously, I'm starting to think that there should simply be a language called "Disney." Really, there's so many words that the rest of the world just doesn't understand. Here's a few we could add: Fastpass, Magic Band, Parkhopping, The Double Finger Point and who knows what else. Because really, let's be real here, we all have this certain way of referring to things. It's actually funny because when we were returning our lofts at college, I was walking through the line and heard someone mention fastpass and I just instantly was like "Woah what!?" My friends made me keep walking, but the person had a good point...we all could have used a fastpass for returning our lofts.

2. I STOOD THERE

You know those times when you travel to a place, say Italy, and go to a library because it's historic, and freak out because you are standing exactly where Harrison Ford stood? Or how if I ever went to Steveston and went into the diner there I would just be like COLIN STOOD RIGHT HERE AND I'M NEVER LEAVING BECAUSE HE'LL BE BACK. Those kinds of things? Well it's fun to watch these TV shows because, and especially in this case, you watch and they stand places and instead of you standing where they did, they are standing where YOU STOOD. And where you'll hopefully go and stand again. If you're like me, you know every inch of the Disney parks, and it just makes it super special to watch and be like "Yep, I've stood there."

3. Cranes

One thing I do worry about when it comes to the band trip this summer is what the hub will look like. We all know that it's under some major renovation at the moment, and while it honestly won't faze me, I worry about everyone else. We all kind of want to step onto Main Street and have our first glimpse of the Castle and everything, but to be honest, a good 75% of the time, something is wrong. It's called a crane. For at least 2 months out of the year, there's at least one crane sitting around the castle, and while they do go down for fireworks and such, for the most part it's just there. Eventually you get pretty used to it. I am, that's for sure. I couldn't care less (although maybe ONE picture of the castle during the day WITHOUT a crane would be brilliant). We just call it the Crane Castle. It works. But what I found hilarious? The Middle filmed only a couple of days after I visited Walt Disney World, and there wasn't a Crane in sight. Either they edited them out or they put them down for filming, but either way it provided endless entertainment for me.

4. Things That Actually Happen

If you really think about what I just said about the cranes, it really DOES seem like they overplay how awesome Disney is. I mean, if the castle has cranes all around it half the year, showing it without the cranes can lead to some serious disappointment when you actually get there. But the thing that I loved about The Middle is that while some of the stuff that happens MIGHT seem a bit crazy (ok, the whole tickets thing...), but a lot of the stuff that goes on ACTUALLY happens. Like, the fact that they upgraded their room? It's happened to us. Maybe we didn't get the most expensive room on property, but we have been upgraded. For those who have never been there and experienced it, it might seem a little crazy, but for the most part it's not. Magical stuff really does happen.

5. The guy did the double finger point and I caught it and freaked out. 'Nuff Said.

Now, back to the whole Once thing. As much as I love to see TV shows go to Disney World, I really don't think Once should. I mean, can you imagine? Plus it's not a sitcom, so it's just not the right kind of show for such things. Having Emma joke about it would be priceless though. Can that please happen? Then again, if they DID go to Disney, I would totally find out when they were filming...and I would be there. Meeting my favorite people is one thing, but meeting them at my favorite place too? That's another. Can you imagine how magical that would be? Plus, there is this gem:

Not much can beat Regina in New Fantasyland, am I right? Plus, we have to remember that Ginny was there for the opening. So that's epic too. I guess that means that in a way, Once has been to Disney World already. Plus Josh and Ginny go to Disneyland all the time. Maybe someday when I work there I'll get to see them! It would be great! Ok, enough about Once.

Overall, I loved The Middle going to Disney. It kind of reminded me of my family when we go, never deciding on what we want to do, and there have certainly been days when we didn't get anywhere until 3 in the afternoon! But we've survived many family vacations, so as the Heck's pointed out, I guess we're doing alright!

Day 474: The Wonderful World of Disney

Since I'm writing an entire paper on Fairy Tales, and specifically on Once Upon a Time and probably a good portion of Disney as well, I took it upon myself to read a behind the scenes book on the show, just to get in the heads of the creators and the actors that bring it to life. Honestly it really did help me, and I bookmarked several pages just with information that I could use, but there was one part of the book that really pointed something out to me.

In the interview with the actor who plays Rumplestiltskin, Robert Carlyle, he mentioned that he loves the show partly because it's a family show. Now, if you watched the "Wicked is Coming" special back before the start of the second half of the season, you'll remember that Jennifer Morrison said the same thing, and I don't know about you, but everyone I was with ended up laughing at that one. But it's a valid point. As action packed and serious as Once Upon a Time is at some points, it IS a family show. The themes can be applied to so many people, and can teach you so much about life in general.

But that's not what caught my attention. In that same interview, Robert Carlyle said that it's interesting because he realized that Once is on during the time slot that used to be filled with The Wonderful World of Disney. This kind of shocked me, because when I thought about that, he's RIGHT. Once IS on during the time that used to be filled with Wonderful World of Disney, and that was just a weird thing to think about for me.

If you don't remember Wonderful World of Disney, that's alright. It's been a number of years (over 10 actually) since the show went off the air, but the way I remember it is specifically through Little House on the Prairie. Now everyone knows that I LOVE and ADORE that show (I've seen every episode), and it was actually through the Wonderful World of Disney that I got hooked on it. Meaning that ultimately, The Wonderful World of Disney has played a very important part in my life.

But what does this say about Once? I mean, Robert Carlyle mentioned that it's like ABC has been trying to find a replacement for that time slot for years, with something that pretty much the whole family could watch. Now, I agree, there are certainly some moments on the show that aren't really child friendly, but for the most part, he's very much right. Since 2003 it's been on and off with that 8/7 PM Time slot, and now we're in our third season of Once with that time. That speaks wonders about this show, and about how successful and absolutely brilliant it is.

I know I talk about Once a lot, I do. But it's funny because my family used to watch Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights, and then it stopped and I was really, honestly, saddened by that. Now, in my first year of college, many of my closest friends and I all get together and watch Once together. It's the best hour of the week, because for that hour we don't have to worry about the homework that's waiting for us back in our dorm rooms, or the tests that are coming up or anything. It's just awesome, and it brings it right back to the Wonderful World of Disney, and a show that we can all enjoy.

Although sometimes I'm pretty sure I enjoy it a little too much.

Day 362: I am Emma Swan

It's not the first time that my friends and I have debating which character we are. It all started back last year when I got my car, which I promptly named The Millennium Falcon. Of course, this development made me Han Solo, and my brother Chewbacca, and my cat Princess Leiabelle, my mom Lando, my best friend Darth Shovell, another friend Boba Fett (and his car the Slave I), and another of my friends became R2-D2. It all went down pretty quickly.

And then, I became Rapunzel, but that's story for another day. So my car was Maximus, and my cat my Pascal. Wherever Flynn Rider is I have no idea...but still. So then I was Han Solo and Rapunzel.

But when it comes to Once Upon a Time, we're all kind of confused. Considering we all just love the song "You're my Mate," and my best friend is the Charming to my Hook, I originally was Hook. It makes sense, because then my car would be the Jolly Roger, since it is also Maximus anyways (there was that pin that one time). So if I'm Hook and my best friend is Charming and my other friend is Rumplestiltskin, it all works out...kind of.

Except there's the fact that I've been rewatching Season 1 with people and my wardrobe is basically the wardrobe of Emma Swan. And her parents are Mary Margaret and David and my parents are Mary and David. I call my younger brother "Kid" all the time, just like Emma calls Henry that, and while I haven't been to jail (and don't plan on it), haven't been in the foster system or any of those other things, I DO love Hot Chocolate with Cinnamon (and Coffee for those JavaSwan shippers like me).

Seriously though...sometimes I go to my closet and have to think "Ok, what ISN'T Emma Swan like here?" It's kind of scary...SCARY AWESOME! To prove it to you, here's yet another picture of my Red Leather Jacket and then my new Emma Swan knit hat. These are just the two that I currently had on Instagram, but I'm sure I'll share more as time goes on.

So maybe my friend Emily is right. Maybe I AM Emma Swan. Or maybe I'm Hook AND Emma, because, well, then I'd be in love with myself...and there certainly won't be a day that goes by I don't think about myself too. It all seems to work out.

Although Megan asked me how I walk away from myself...or how I forget half of me.

Maybe being Emma AND Hook won't work out so well after all.

Day 350: Going Home

It is, again, Monday. And normally on Mondays I'm sitting in the music lobby at SNC rewatching the latest episode of Once Upon a Time. But I'm not sitting there right now, nor am I watching Once Upon a Time...nor is it actually Monday. Truthfully, it's actually Wednesday December 18th, not Monday the 16th...but I'm making up all these blog posts I missed, so that's why this is occurring.

But why, you ask, did I not do my weekly rewatch of OUAT? That is, generally, if you remember, the highlight of my Monday. Well, it finally occurred to Megan and I today that I have something very similar to Disney Depression. You remember, that thing that I get every time I come home from WDW...what we ALL get when we come home from WDW. Yeah, apparently it applies to more than just Disney World. Which scares me in itself. Nothing has ever meant enough to me that it rivals WDW like that...but I guess with the circumstances that I previously discussed a few days ago, it makes sense, right?

I mean, I have all the signs. I've been almost dreading writing this blog post because it means I'd have to rewatch the episode, but yet sometimes I just get to this point where I just suddenly HAVE to rewatch the Goodbye between Hook and Emma (I never said there wouldn't be spoilers here...so you've been warned now). And then like right now as I write this a part of me is like "No Lizzie, you DO want to rewatch the episode." But I'll go to Hulu and look at it and am then just like "no, I can't" and close it again.

I want to simultaneously hear EVERYTHING about Once and the future of what's coming in March and NOTHING about Once. All at the same time. I want to see on set pictures, but then I'm like "No, stop with the feels." I spent a good hour yesterday making a real comparison between SwanFire and CaptainSwan (Sorry SF shippers, but I'm pretty sure CS is happening. Like legit). I can come up with theories about just about everything too. Like this: here's a link to my tumblr post and my theory on this purple cloud. 

Anyway, I am still having some intense feels from Sunday's episode. I mean, the following things just about killed me: 

And if those feels weren't enough, this happened before that last part. 

Now OBVIOUSLY she picks Hook, right? I mean...she just said good. And it was obvious that she wasn't even going to say goodbye to him because it HURT TOO MUCH. That's how Emma works. When there's danger of her getting hurt, she tends to shield herself, and saying goodbye to Hook was going to hurt her like crazy. I mean, she basically started crying when he said goodbye. And we can't at all forget the whole Snowing Parallel. Anyone remember back in Season one when Charming sent Snow the letter that was like "But I must let you know, not a day goes by that I have no thought of you." #BOOM. 

Anyways, my feels are just all over the place...and I need it to be March like right now, and don't even get me started on the fact that the Wicked Witch is coming and that Emma doesn't remember Hook (and don't worry that true love's kiss didn't work...there was a time it didn't work for Snow and Charming too...and Rumple and Belle as well). Oh yeah, Rumple. Gosh. Three people died in this episode and then Emma basically picked Hook and then she lost her memories and ahhh.

And now I'll just sit here for the next 81 days wishing that it was March 9. Sigh. 

And the Disneybound for this week, the last one for this half of the season, was a special one, because it technically wasn't a character like any of the others. I mean, if we refresh our memories on the first half of the season (as you can do right now below), I did Emma (Heart of the Truest Believer), Mary Margaret (Lost Girl), Charming (Quite a Common Fairy), Neal (Nasty Habits), Hook (Good Form), Belle (Ariel), Ruby (Dark Hallow), Tink (Think Lovely Thoughts), Henry (Save Henry) and finally, Regina (The New Neverland). They were all characters, so this week I decided that Magic would be a great option. I did this with a purple tank top, navy cardigan, jeans, my black boots (which show up in pretty much half of these), an infinity scarf that's black, blue and purple (kind of looks like a galaxy design) and then navy nail polish.

And don't worry. While I feel like this challenge may have only applied to the first half of the season, it's going to continue when we get to the second half. And I am VERY VERY excited about several of them come March. I'm already in the planning stages for the second half (and already have one Disneybound entirely finished). I can't wait to share them with you!

Then again, I'm pretty sure March 9 can't come soon enough for any of us.
