Day 722: More Spaceship Earth

As if I didn't already have enough of Spaceship Earth in my collection, which you can find HERE, I found a piece that I happened to miss when I made that original post!

I was working on the update to the mug collection post last week while also cleaning out my mugs from one cabinet and moving them to another when I happened to look up to the top shelf where this little bugger was hiding:

Honestly, I didn't even remember that I had this, but apparently I do, and now it's on a shelf in my bedroom with the rest of the collection (actually, one shelf has proven to be too small for my collection, so I've enlisted a second shelf), and there it will stay.

But honestly, what even should I call this? Technically, I'm pretty sure it's a Spaceship Earth water bottle, but I might be mistaken. I mean, a Spaceship Earth shaped water bottle isn't exactly the most convenient thing to carry around. It literally is shaped like a giant spaceship earth with a weird handle on one side, and who knows how long it's been sitting in the cabinet (probably since 2000 honestly).

However, it's one of those awesome, unique additions to my collection that makes the Spaceship Earth collection I have what it is. Without stuff like this or the little wind up toy, it really wouldn't be a collection, would it?

Day 705: My Disney Collection V3.5

It's funny how sometimes you're on Pinterest or Tumblr or Twitter and you find a post or a meme that literally perfectly describes your life. For me, this is one of those times.

Over a year ago, back on Day 172 actually (which you can read HERE), I did one of my "Disney Collection" posts on my mug collection. It's true, I have quite the extensive mug collection, but what I didn't expect was to be doing an update on a collection post this soon in the game. Sure, some of my other collections have extended too, and while it's been a long time since the last Disney collection post, there's been a few in the works for a while that I just haven't gotten around to.

However, Christmas brought me a lot of new and interesting mugs. In fact, maybe I should admit defeat and accept that I might have too many. What do you think?

But, since this is an update post, let's talk about the Disney additions that have come in the last year and a half! We'll start with the trio of mugs that I've collected over the past few trips. I happened to have someone contact me about the Spaceship Earth mug even before they began selling them on Disney property, and of course the second I got to Florida, I bought it. I guess this counts for part of a Spaceship Earth collection post in that respect too, but it's not alone, although the Spaceship Earth mug is definitely the weirdest one I have. There's a matching Cinderella Castle and Tree of Life mug to go with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, and my dad and I continue to wonder where Hollywood Studios is. 

Then we have this duo that I got on Black Friday from the Disney Store. I definitely love the old vintage feel of both of these, and the travel mug on the right is literally my favorite color (although the coloring is a bit off in this picture). Definitely good additions to my collection.

While I collect a pin for every year at Disney World, I don't really collect a mug for every year. That would get exhausting and I'd definitely run out of room faster than I already am with this mug collection. However, sometimes there's a mug that's just too good to pass up, and this definitely goes on that list. 2013 was a big year for me, and this mug is just about as big. It's a double size, meaning that I have plenty of space for lots of coffee or tea when I use it! Plus, that 3 as the handle is pretty awesome. 

Next up is another of my newest mugs from Black Friday, Chip! I've already gotten several compliments on this one and have actually been meaning to buy it for a while, only I never got around to it. Chip is seriously adorable though, and I have the distinct feeling that I know a few other people who might love one too.

And finally we have the Once addition to the bunch, my Hook's Crew mug. I've wanted this on a T-shirt for AGES, but while ordering a mug for a friend from RedBubble, I found this to be a cheaper option and jumped on the chance. I pull it out for watching Once Upon A Time, of course, as well as literally anything to do with Peter Pan or Colin O'Donoghue. So basically, it's out a lot. My roommates sure love it too, but we'll save that picture for another day.

Since last time I shared the Disney themed hot cocoas, I figured this time we'd look at the Disney tea I got a while back from Adagio Teas. You already have heard about the CaptainSwan tea, and I'm looking forward to getting my hands on some OutlawQueen and Snowing tea when I head back to college for the spring semester, but the last time I ordered (to get more CaptainSwan tea, of course), I made sure to try some other ones too. There are a ton of fandom blends out there, but luckily I found a bunch specifically tailored to Walt Disney World, and that was the end of that conversation. The Echo Lake blend is a chocolate mint blend, definitely good for afternoon snack time, while the Fantasyland blend is a vanilla and berry combination. Plus, I added in the Captain Hook blend, which is a delicious blackberry tea that I've been really into as of late. All three are spectacular and you should definitely try them sometime if you order from Adagio! There's a whole selection of Disney blends! 

As for me, I have to deal with the fact that mom made me move my mugs out of her cabinet and into a cabinet of my own because I have too many to fit with the rest of the glasses now. I guess that's alright on my end, because I get my own cabinet, and I got a ton of new mugs, but I also have to somehow convince them that I do have a rotation schedule to make sure I use them all. They don't believe me, but I do. 

Today's mug, if I drink tea tonight, will be the castle mug, by the way.

Day 337: My Disney Collection V6

I actually intended for this to be a bit earlier than right now, but that's alright, it just means that we're going to have two Disney Collection posts close together. Perfectly fine by me, other than the fact that these really do take a while to create since I have to go take pictures and everything.

Previously we've looked at tons of portions of my collection, from what's on my walls to my Spaceship Earth Series of Merchandise. But now, let's take a look at the Disney that happens to make its way OUT of my house! Yes, like any good Disney fan, I have a closet filled with Disney (although a lot of it is more Disney inspired than anything else...I love Disneybounding, after all!) It's actually somewhat funny because, up until about a year ago, I really had NO Disney in my closet at all. I didn't have one Disney Sweatshirt or t-shirt. Nope. Nothing. But that all changed pretty quickly, and now I've got all of these, plus a few others put away in storage because I keep moving back and forth between home and college so not all my clothing is out.

No one's Disney closet can be complete without the customary Mickey Mouse Shirts, and I actually have two of them. The one on the left I got last November from somewhere in Downtown Disney, and the Mickey Mouse Club shirt I got from Old Navy on sale this past fall. I can't say I wear them all the time, but the right one does come to college with me, and I wear it often enough. They are pretty adorable, after all. 

This shirt I got at Target a few months ago on sale as well. I felt that a Lion King Shirt was necessary for my closet as well. I mean, it's a pretty adorable shirt. Along with the Mickey Mouse Club shirt, this one takes its place in my college closet. 

This shirt kind of has a story to it. A number of months ago (ok, like half a year ago at least), I saw this shirt for the first time on Pinterest I believe, and I was like "I NEED THIS SHIRT." So I put it in the back of my mind to think about for the next time I went to Disney. A few months later I was on Instagram when one of my favorite actors posted a picture of him wearing this shirt at Epcot. So once again it was in the forefront of my mind. A month later I went to Epcot and found the shirt myself...so now I wear it all the time. 

It's been over a year since Epcot's 30th Anniversary, but last Christmas I got a ton of merch from it. When I went in November my parents happened to grab this shirt for me, and I have to say that it's one of my favorites. I wear it all the time, both here at home and at college!

Also in my basket last November was this Sweatshirt, which I totally adore. In 2011 I went to Disney World with my FBLA Chapter for the National FBLA Conference. While there I played Angry Birds just about every day with my Adviser's son, so when I saw this I knew that I had to have it. This is also probably where my love affair with Donald started...as he's now probably my favorite Classic Disney Character, next to Mickey of course! 

Of all my Disney in my entire closet, this is the one that comes out the most. I wear my Epcot Sweatshirt all the time. I've worn it in High School, at Disney World, at College, at home, to the store, and just about everywhere in between. It's my absolute favorite piece of clothing, other than my red leather jacket of course. Plus, it's essential to one of my favorite Disneybound's, my Epcot Disneybound! 

And of course, I couldn't finish this post without a look at my Magical Ribbons, a collection which recently just about tripled. Yes, my order came in last week, and I love each and every one of them. My favorites include the Park Map bows, the World Showcase Bow that matches my Epcot Sweatshirt, my "Magic is Coming" Once Upon a Time bow, and my Spaceship Earth bow, but seriously, I love them all. Can't wait to wear them to the parks with new Disneybounds! 

There are a couple of shirts not pictured here too, such as my actual Spaceship Earth T-Shirt and my American Adventure T-Shirt, both of which I got for Christmas Last year. I don't wear them quite as much at the moment because, like I said, I'm going back and forth between home and college, and I have way too many t-shirts to be honest. 

Doesn't mean I won't be getting any new Disney shirts come my next vacation though. 

In the next Disney Collection post we'll be taking a look at what Christmas looks like around my house, Disney Style! I have no clue what's gonna go on after that, but I guess we'll find out! New Year and all! 

Here's today's Disney History: 1999: Disney Legend Joe Fowler (a retired U.S. Navy Admiral) passes away at age 99 in Orlando, Florida. Retired from Disney since 1978, Fowler oversaw construction of both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The dock for the two large ships in Disneyland's Rivers of America, located across from The Haunted Mansion is named Fowler's Harbor. In 1999, one of the ferries that crosses the Seven Seas Lagoon taking guests from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom was renamed Admiral Joe Fowler in his honor (it was originally known as the Magic Kingdom).

Day 268: My Disney Collection V5

Hello all! It's time for another edition of My Disney Collection. Again, as I said last time, you should have this down, but if you're just joining us, here's the basics: I write a blog called Everyday Disney, and I try to write everyday. If I can't write I go back and make it up, but in reality I have one blog post for every day of the year. Either way, I have several series of posts going on, one about my favorite Youtube Videos, one on my favorite Disney things and then this one. The My Disney Collection Series, which now has FIVE parts, and if you haven't seen the others or want a refresher, here's the previous ones!  (V1 V2 V3 V4). Just click one of links right there.

This volume of the My Disney Collection series focuses around something that all of us Disney Parks fans seem to have: a pin collection. Like everyone else I have a whole bunch of pins, and I won't be able to talk about every single one, but I will show you them all and mention a few of my favorites.

We'll start with a transition set from the last Disney Collection Volume, Epcot pins. Now back when I went to the D23 Expo in 2011 I was able to get my hands on some awesome pins, including these two beauties right here. The one on the left if a Walt Disney Imagineering pin. I have no clue if there's any importance otherwise to it, but it's beautiful and I like to think it's special. The other is a 1980's pin that I picked up. Equally beautiful, and certainly one of my more treasured pieces.

Speaking of the D23 Expo, that's where I got these next couple of pins. You can see my Disney Geek pin right there, which I actually used as a part of my FBLA speech my senior year. And below you can see my D23 Expo pin as well as my treasured 1st visit to Disneyland pin. I've always wanted one of those, and now I have one!

Back to Epcot pins, since I have a lot of those. Of course, as you could tell from the last post, I got just about all I could from the 30th anniversary merchandise, and that certainly includes pins. They had a mystery set of 30th anniversary pins with Figment, so I have the Living Seas pin and the Horizons pin from that. Below is a special one I picked up back in July 2013 when there was still a bit of stuff left from the celebration. It's one of my favorite pins because it opens and on the inside you have the characters standing looking at the globe from Illuminations and the saying "To all who come to this place of joy, hope and friendship, Welcome" from the dedication of Epcot. 

Next is another set of pins I got at D23, which was put out by Walt Disney Imagineering. My brother has the entire set of Epcot Symbol pins but I just got this one, which I really do adore. I mean, I do love Spaceship Earth, after all.

Finally getting out of some of the Epcot stuff, I have a collection of Holiday pins. My family often times would go to Disney for Thanksgiving, and that means that Holiday pins are out, and sometimes they have pins specifically for thanksgiving as well. I almost always get the pin from Old Key West, because doing anything else would just seem wrong. 

Then we move on to the next shadow box, which is also pretty much completely filled with pins. Below you can see a few of my favorites as well, including my Mickey Aviator Pin, the Elle Badge from Up (Honestly my favorite pin of all time) and my I Mickey New York pin that I got from the Disney Store in New York when I went in 2012. 

And then we come to our last specific set I'll talk about, although there are tons of other pins that I have. Back in November 2012 I was searching for one set of pins (actually I had been searching in January as well), and I just wasn't finding them. After searching all of January I just figured they weren't made anymore and gave up. But then my parents went on Tower of Terror. Now my brother and I generally just sit that one out and instead go around taking pictures or go on Star Tours or something. Well it just so happened that we headed into the store at the end of ToT that time and we were over by the pins when he goes "Hey Lizzie, it's Han Solo!" and I was like "WHAT" and he was like "Look" and he pointed right at that pin down below this. He had found the sole Han Solo pin (lol...no pun intended). Of course I bought the entire set right away and have loved them ever since. Can't get much better than Han and Leia and Chewie on Pirates! 

And that concludes the pins. Down below you can see my entire three shadowboxes. The third one is new, since I officially ran out of room in the first two after my trip in July, so now I have a third. It's kind of interesting trying to get them all to fit, both in the boxes and then on my shelves, but I make it work. Pins are never a bad thing, after all.

Day 228: My Disney Collection V4

I hope that by now you understand how this works. But if you don't, here's the rundown. I write a blog called Everyday Disney, and I try to write everyday. THIS Volume of the My Disney Collection Series focuses around one of the most important parts of my collection, my Spaceship Earth collection! Now, everyone seems to collect something. Some people collection rocks, other stamps, or coins or some other random thing that isn't stereotypical. I collect many things, including Snow Globes, and as you will see next time, Limited Edition Disney Pins. But there is one collection that I love more than anything else, and that's this one. So let's get started!

The first piece of my Spaceship Earth Collection is my favorite piece of it. My Spaceship Earth Snowglobe! As I said, I also collect SnowGlobes, so that makes this my favorite in that collection too. It isn't real big, but I remember getting it at the store outside of Epcot. Like the one by Guest Relations outside the park. I honestly don't know if it's still there. Either way, I saw it on the shelf and was like "nah" and then I ended up later going back to get it because I didn't see it anywhere else. I'm glad I did too because I haven't seen it since.

Next up is one of the favorites of a few of my friends. It's a Spaceship Earth Wind-up toy! I honestly have no clue where or when I got it, but I have it, and it's a part of my collection. I don't even understand the logic behind the fact that it's Spaceship Earth moving around as a little toy. Spaceship Earth doesn't move! LOL, I don't know, but it's cute, and it does still work! 

Next is the newest of the items I guess you could say. Well, sort of. The strictly Spaceship Earth items. It's my Spaceship Earth Baseball. I got it in November of 2012, but I had seen it the year before when I visited in June of 2011. Basically I was like "Nah" and then I ended up getting it anyway because, well, I have a Spaceship Earth Collection!

Still going with the Spaceship Earth stuff (yes, I have a lot of it), I have another one of my favorite pieces! My limited edition 300 Spaceship Earth iPhone Case. It's another one of those things put out for the 30th anniversary and this was the one thing that I labeled as a must have for myself. I figured I would never get my hands on one, but I did eventually find one through Ebay and got it for Christmas. Best day ever when I got it! Of course, it will never grace the sides of my phone, mostly because it's going to stay in it's case. 

Next up is one of the first pieces of my Spaceship Earth Collection I had! It's my Spaceship Earth Bank! It's actually pretty big, so trying to fit it on my shelf can sometimes get a little tricky. But either way, I must have gotten it a number of years ago, back when the Mickey Hand, Wand and Epcot were still across the top of Spaceship Earth. My brother got a Monorail Bank at the same time, but other than that that's all I really remember LOL. 

And then, around the same time, or earlier actually, I got this picture frame. I don't remember getting it, but it's been sitting on a shelf for years. Sadly, the one side is broken, so I can't really use it as a normal picture frame. But I keep it around anyway, and if there's any Disney collection post it belongs in, it's this one!

Next we have my Spaceship Earth pen, which I honestly have like never used. My mom and my brother went to Disney a number of years ago without my dad or myself, and they got me a couple of smaller things, this being one of them. It's blue, my favorite color, and the top is a mini-Spaceship Earth. So in other words, it sits on my shelf with all my other Spaceship Earth stuff. 

Next up, we head into my 30th Anniversary of Epcot stuff. Of course, they all have some reason as to why I got them. Back last year I had a minor (or major) freakout over the fact that the 30th Anniversary parkmap had Spaceship Earth plastered on the front. Yeah, of course, I had to have it, and for a long time I figured I wouldn't in the end. But then, at Christmas, I ended up finding a copy of it on Ebay and got it right away. It may have cost me enough for something that was originally free, but hey, I have it now! Plus, it opens up to include the previous park maps!

And along with the 30th Anniversary Park Map, I managed to get a 30th Anniversary Epcot Button too! Of course, the background of this is Spaceship Earth as well, but I mostly got it because the person on Ebay was offering a package deal so you could get both. Win in my book!

Next up is more 30th Anniversary merch. To the average person, it's an Epcot 30th Anniversary Lanyard for pins. But to me, what did I notice first? The fact that the entire backside was made up of a Spaceship Earth Pattern. I just had to get it. Of course, my brother got it too because he seems to want everything Epcot that I have, but we all know who the real Spaceship Earth collector is. 

Still looking at 30th Anniversary stuff (yes, I have a lot of that too), I've got this little set. My brother has one too but took it out of the package. I have no idea why he did such a thing. Either way, it's got the keychain and the lanyard, and I decided to just keep it in the packaging because it looks so nice, so why not! 

Of course, no Spaceship Earth Collection Post would be complete without my Spaceship Earth bow from Magical Rbbons! I love it sooooo much! In fact I've worn it a whole bunch of times and it'll be coming with me to college too!

And then, I put this one in this category for the following reason. If you look closely on the bottom chain you'll see a Spaceship Earth charm. That was the first charm my parents got me when they went to Disney World many years ago without me and my brother. Obviously since then I've gotten just a few other charms, but that first one is the reason it's included with the rest of my Spaceship Earth stuff!

And finally, I figured that I should include the two specific Spaceship Earth pieces of art from Larry Dotson that I have. So here they are. You saw them back in Volume 1, but here are the two specific to SSE. The left one was my first one, and the right one I got in November 2012!

That just about does it for my Spaceship Earth Collection, although I did try to find a picture of the chocolate Spaceship Earth I had Once Upon a Time. I couldn't find one, but I did have one once. We got it all the way home without it breaking too, and then it sat on the counter until it got gross and we had to throw it away!

Next time we'll take a peak at my pin collection! There are so many of those!!! And after that we'll take a trip into my closet to see all of my pieces of Disney clothing!

Here's today's Disney History: 1924: Actor Fess Parker, famous for the Disney role of Davy Crockett, is born in Fort Worth, Texas (although he was raised in San Angelo). Parker was named a Disney Legend in 1991.
