Day 629: Disney Nightmares

I love Oh My Disney and the hilariously accurate Disney Fan related posts. This time it was one on Disney Nightmares...the terrors that keep us up at night...and ONLY us up at night.

They're list includes things like "Losing a Radiator Springs Racers FastPass" and my personal favorite, "Buying 8 Vinylmation Only to Get the Same One 8 Times." You can read the entire list HERE, but I felt like I needed to add just a few more completely accurate Disney Fan nightmares. Because let's be real, these are SCARY.

1. Your Favorite Attraction Being Closed for Refurb During Your Entire Trip.

I actually just dodged a bullet with one of these this morning, since I'll be headed to WDW from January 2-10, and Splash will be closing for annual Refurb on January 4. Our first day at Magic Kingdom for the trip? January 3. BOOM.

But seriously, this is scary. And it happens way too often. Luckily I've always managed to secure my place on Spaceship Earth (knock on wood) even during the great 2006-2007 overhaul.

2. Your Favorite Attraction Closing - For Good.

I feel for you Malestrom and Backlot Tour fans. We all feel your pain.

3. Your Annual Pass Running Out.

I face this one in January. That is a sad day indeed because it means you have to either pay more money for your new annual pass or live in the sad world without one until further notice.

4. Having a Terrible View for Fireworks or the Parade.

If you think that because we've seen these things before we'd be ok with allowing someone else superior viewing, you think wrong.

5. The End of Your Disney Vacation.

Admit it...this is the worst nightmare of all. The scariest part? We face this one in real life all the time.

Do you have other Disney nightmares? I'm pretty sure I could write a book on this one.

Have a magical day!

Day 290: Midterms, Coffee and Awesomeness

As a Freshman in college, I have to say that I'm learning to appreciate the little things in life. Like coffee. I love coffee. Actually, we have a great coffee shop here on campus, one that I drink way too much coffee from, but that's ok. Or the fact that I got an A on my first midterm, which I took last week. Or that I completed two other midterms and finished a paper and talked to my professor about a different paper. Yeah, all great things.

Oh...and Once Upon a Time.

But I'm not going to talk about that. I don't want to reveal anything. Although there's a fair chance that some of you already know what I'm talking about. Still, I will not be the one to spill the beans. HAHA that was actually no pun intended but ended up being a great joke. Gosh I love that show.

No, today we're talking about the little things in life, remember? Like the little bits of Disney that just make your day awesome. For instance, tonight as I was seriously procrastinating on my homework, I came across lots of little Disney things that made me happy. Just going on Youtube or Pinterest has a wealth of little Disney things, many of which I have discussed. If you follow Disney blogs like I do, then you obviously see a lot of this stuff.

But I'm saying the little things down to the Disney Parks Commercials on TV, currently which are running through the Disney Side campaign I talked about last week. Or the set of Vinylmation I have on my desk here at college. My E-Ticket mug that I probably use more here at college than I ever did at home. Or the Annual Passholder magnet I have on the side of my mini-fridge (which I use because it's right here next to my desk.

And what about the Disney Parks music I continuously have been listening to these past few days as I studied for all my midterms. I think I listened to my 3 hour long play list at least 10 times this week. At least. Probably more than that. I think last night I made it through 2 and a half times. Just goes to show you how long I was sitting here. Granted, depending on what I was doing I sometimes skipped a song, but you get the point.

Anyways, since I got really distracted by planning my future Once Upon a Time Disneybounds, it is now 11:55 and I want to actually post this today yet.

So here's today's Disney History: 1965: The World's Fair in Flushing, New York, officially ends. The fair included 4 attractions developed by Walt Disney: General Electric's Carousel of Progress, Ford's Magic Skyway, Pepsi-Cola's It's a Small World, and the State of Illinois' Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

Have a magical day!

Day 226: The Disney Monitor

I feel like it shouldn't be a surprise that I'm an annual passholder at Walt Disney World. It's how my family has always done Disney, and honestly I can't imagine NOT being an Annual Passholder. But either way, a few times a year they send out the Disney Monitor, which is, of course, the Annual Passholder "magazine" if you will.

Now I normally just kind of go through them, but this month's issue was especially adorable (other than reminding me of all the things I cannot attend this fall because I'm no where near Florida). So I'll just type what they wrote at the beginning, which went along with portraits like these:

Welcome, ghoulish Passholders, to our haunted issue...there's no turning back now!

Dearest Passholder,

On the cover, you see some of our infamous villians as they might have appeared in their corruptible, mortal state inside Haunted Mansion. (By the way, was that room actually stretching?)

Of course, the cover is just one of our little Halloween tricks. We've got more tricks up our sleeve in this issue, but mostly you'll find lots of treats - because we want you to take advantage of your Passholder admissions, perks and privileges to their very fullest.

Now read on...and hurry ba-ack...hurry baaa-ack...

Chillingly yours,Your best friends forever at Walt Disney World Passholder Programs.

Ok, now tell me that wasn't adorable. It seriously made my day when I read it. As we discussed a while back, Haunted Mansion is my favorite attraction in the Magic Kingdom, so seeing something like this was just absolutely great. Of course, I read the entire thing out loud to my family and best friend, just in the way I would narrate along with the attraction itself. And as soon as I was finished, I knew I just had to share it on here, because it's a piece of Disney that totally came into my life and made it brighter!

Also happy birthday to my friend Ashley!

Here's today's Disney History: 2010: The Last Tour to Endor special-ticket event is held at Disney's Hollywood Studios as part of the Star Wars Celebration V convention. The event allows attendees a chance to ride Star Tours before it closes September 8, 2010. In attendance is Star Wars creator George Lucas!

Have a magical day!
