Day 954: Character Mania

If there was one thing I loved about Disneyland more than pretty much anything else, it was the characters. Alright, so that's a half-truth, because you just can't beat World of Color and Paint the Night (among other things), but the character selection in California is VERY different from the ones we have back at Walt Disney World. So of course I set out to meet as many of them as possible in my short time there, and the results were definitely rewarding.

It took me all of about two hours to spot my first character of the trip, the one and only Queen. When I noticed her meeting in the shadow of the Matterhorn, my inner Evil Regal kicked in and I just had to stop. To be completely honest, between the chilling sounds of the Matterhorn behind us and her rather...cold...attitude, I got a bit of shiver on my spine. I wouldn't call her evil though...just misunderstood. Once a Oncer, always a Oncer.

Then it was off with my friend Laura to meet a couple of the greates heroes our world has ever known, Thor and Captain America! Thor was a bit put off by the fact that I had my Cap shirt on and wasn't wearing a shirt that had him on it, but I managed to convince him that it was alright and that he should come to visit Florida sometime. After all, it's closer to New York, right?

Then, over by Cap, I was completely heart eyes. Think Captain America is charming in the movies? You should meet him in person. Greatest three minutes of my life...well...until I met my next character.

I personally think it's ridiculous that this guy doesn't meet in Florida, so when I saw him after getting off the Carrousel Laura was like "Go, Live your Dream" and I ran over to meet him. Having him sign my autograph book was basically the highlight of my afternoon, especially since because he only has one hand you have to like hold the book for him while he signs. It was a Hooker's dream.

Now, I'm still not caught up on all the Tinkerbell movies, but heading to Pixie Hollow was pretty amazing. In Florida we can obviously still meet Tink, but the expansion of Fantasyland took away her fairy friends! Rosetta was the cutest little honey-bunch and I just wanted to take her home to be honest.

Of all the characters in California, Oswald was the one I knew I just had to meet. This guy is a huge historical figure when it comes to the Disney company, and the fact that he's finally in the parks and back in our lives is absolutely wonderful. He was SOOOO Cute, especially in relation to the vlog and the camera. Which brings me to my next question...when can we get him in Florida?

And last but certainly not least, I headed on a 45 minute mission to meet our favorite snowman, Olaf! One of my best friends is a huge Olaf fan, so because she can't meet him in Florida, I figured the least I could do was go and get his autograph for her! He actually doesn't sign regular autographs yet, and instead does a little self-portrait, and Olaf was kind enough to sign one for me and one for my friend! Plus look at how happy we were! Warm Hugs indeed!

Not bad for five days in the parks though, right? I wanted to see if I could catch Cruella and the Fairy Godmother as well but time just wasn't on my side, so I'll have to save them for the next time! And who knows, by then ALL the Avengers might be there!

Which character would you most want to meet at Disneyland? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a magical day!

Day 880: Tinkerbell

When one of my friends realized that I've never seen the Tinkerbell movies, that needed to be immediately changed, and it was once she informed me that most of the films are actually on Netflix. I tell you...Netflix is the greatest thing in the world. And so the other day I set out to watch the original Tinkerbell movie and start on my journey to watching these films. My friends here in Wisconsin kind of thought I was crazy, but that's alright, because I actually really enjoyed the first one, and I can't wait to watch the next one in the lineup tonight!

I figured that this occasion warranted a few of my favorite parts of the movie as seen through another edition of Lizzie Live Tweets Something!

Apparently my love of Pirates and Captain Hook has grown and gone further than intended...I now love all Pirate things. This is a problem.

I think this one and it's adorableness speaks for itself.

Do you know how many tries a bun like Tink's would take me? Lots. She must have the same hair powers as Jennifer Morrison and Elsa and Colin O'Donoghue. Also, my standards for hair are apparently set really high.

Cheese is actually my favorite character.

I'm honestly not really sure what my Talent would be, but music seems like a pretty good possibility. I do have this sad feeling that I'd be in Tink's boat though. The music fairies probably don't get to go to the main land...hence my next tweet:

It's just not fair!

I don't think I appreciated Jesse McCartney until he was on Young and Hungry. Now I can't wait to see more of Terence!

I was so confused by this one. Like is it Neverland, yes, no? This was eventually clarified for me though, as apparently everything takes place canonically before Peter Pan. However...I'm still kind of uncertain as to whether or not it's actually Neverland. Anyone have an explanation?

I had a lot of feels about Wendy being in the movig.

Overall I actually really loved the movie, and I'm looking forward to watching the next one tonight. So if you happen to read this before my Live Tweet Tonight (June 4), join me when I watch Tinkerbell and then share my thoughts on Twitter!

Have a magical day!

Day 287: Quite a Common Fairy

It's that time of the week again! Time for Once Upon a Time, even though technically that was yesterday, but still. I just finished rewatching the episode (while doing homework of course. I don't have time to just sit and watch at the moment), and I have to say, while obviously I wasn't as shocked as I was the first time, there were still many many things I ADORED about this episode.

So for those that have yet to watch, here's your spoiler alert. If you haven't seen it, don't read anything past this because seriously, you're going to regret it. There are SOO Many things revealed in this episode, and of the three from this season so far, I feel it's the one most worth watching. Not that I didn't love the first two, I loved those, but there was just something about this one that was awesome.

For starters, Tinkerbell. We knew she was coming, and Rose is brilliant as Tink. Like seriously awesome. I'm not a huge Tinkerbell fan...or at least I wasn't until I watched this. It's terrible that she has lost her wings and no longer has magic, but I find it intriguing too. Plus it brings up new questions. Like how did she get to Neverland when she lost her wings? Although I have a theory on this one that I just came up with, but we'll get to that in a minute.

And then let's bring in a bit of Hook, because the scene where they all meet Tinkerbell is fantastic. Although my favorite part is probably when she's all "Hook" and he's like "Lady Bell." Awesome that he calls her that. Just brought this line of respect from him to her. Plus he mentioned they had been through a lot together. So does that mean that maybe Tink got to Neverland via Hook's ship? I feel like that's possible. Otherwise there's certainly a story behind those two. Plus how does Pan play into all of this? Maybe we'll be finding out more when we get Hook's backstory in 3x05 (Good Form).

I'll save the CaptainSwan moments for the end this week, so let's move back to the Enchanted Forest. Can anyone deny how ADORABLE Roland (Robin's son) is? THAT HAS TO BE THE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER. Oh my gosh, everyone in my Once party was just like "AWWWWWWW" and I did it again both times he came about when watching it again tonight.

Oh, and LionQueen? Or is it EvilArrow? Either way, that's a thing now! Yes, according to Tink, Robin Hood and Regina need to end up together. Guess that means HookedQueen is out (narrowing it down!), which I'm perfectly ok with. Not sure how they're going to meet, but at some point they'll have to. I know we'll certainly be seeing more Robin Hood in the season because they hinted at it at the end of the episode.

But then, the big shockers of the week: Mulan and Aurora? Like BOOM. Not sure if I'm happy with that or not, but I do fully support gay and lesbians, and it's not that. It's just that now Mulan won't really get a happy ending! And she was one of my favorites too! But then there's the fact that Aurora is having a baby, and that's just like woah......although I knew about five minutes before it happened on the show. Guess that gets rid of the baby rumor mill around this show.

Plus, is Charming going to die? Yeah, we're back to Neverland. And what's up with Henry and Peter? Can I just talk for a second about how much I adore Peter Pan in this series? Like, Robbie is PERFECT in this role and he's worked his way onto my favorite character list really quickly. Totally my favorite villain on the show...unless you count Hook.

Speaking of Hook, we had two wonderful CaptainSwan moments this week, bringing our total for the season up to....somewhere around 8-10. That's a lot of CaptainSwan people. Tonight's were especially adorable I think though, and one directly called it out. That time when Regina was all...

And then everyone in the room I was sitting in was like "OHHHHHHH" or maybe it was just me...But you can't deny that they're sitting awful close by that campfire...right across from Snow and Charming...and he's looking at her.

But then there's the downer that Neal is in Neverland, and as much as I want him to be there for Henry he needs to stay away from Emma. JUST..THIS...

All the above pictures belong to the awesome Instagramers that originally posted them. =) They all have their watermarks on them if you want to go follow them (which you should).

And finally we have tonight's OUAT Disneybound, inspired this week by our favorite prince. That's right, Prince Charming! Funny because we have a new hashtag with him this week to relate his bromance with Hook: #Hooking! Also let's all hope that he doesn't die! Although it looks like next week he'll be telling Snow.........

Here's today's Disney History: 1971: Walt Disney World's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea attraction (based on the 1954 Disney film) opens at the 14-day old Magic Kingdom. It features 12 thirty-eight passenger (39 including the operator) submarines in an 11.5 million gallon tank of water. A very close cousin to Disneyland's Submarine Voyage which opened in 1959, the two rides share many of the same elements and animatronics.

Have a magical day!

Day 279: Lost Girl

Well, here it is, the second episode of Season 3 of Once Upon a Time, and I'm pretty sure that this season I'm just going to go on some sort of rantish thing for every episode, because that just makes sense, right? I mean, when you're looking at this year there are only what, 9 episodes left.

Wait. 9 episodes left. That's it? And then another "summer break" that's really a winter break but is three months (12 weeks) long?!? I'm going to die.

But before I die, I suppose I can just go on talking about tonight's episode, which, in true Oncer fashion, I loved! Honestly, after watching it twice (I'm actually writing this on the 9th to be sure that spoilers aren't revealed...and I was sick sooooo), it certainly does prove that the original magic we found in season one is back. So here are some of my comments.

I kind of wanted to save this for the end, but didn't. Can we just stop for a minute and talk about Hook? I mean, even if you aren't a CaptainSwan shipper or don't like Hook a ton, you have to admit that his banter and lines in this episode were, as he would say, Bloody Brilliant! Between him and Charming arguing the entire episode and his little moments with Emma, I just couldn't handle it. The big one of the night though? This:

Now don'y you deny it. You laughed, didn't you? You did! Yeah, and that kind of stuff just continued throughout the entire episode. It really, really did. So much Captain Hook and all of it spectacular!

Anyway, moving on from how hilarious Hook is, I thought the entire theme of the episode was wonderful. We've all been waiting for that Emma/Mary Margaret conversation since the curse broke, and we finally got it. I have never seen Emma as one to really rely on her parents, even after she accepts them as that. She was best friends with Mary Margaret before the curse broke, and they are the same age, so that has to be more than a bit creepy. In other words, I love the fact that Emma got the map to work only after admitting she's an orphan. I can't wait to see how this comes into play in the next number of episodes, because in reality she's a lost girl, and hasn't forgiven her parents, and therefore she won't be able to leave the island either, right? But then there's the fact that Rumple and Hook are also both Orphans, and they left? It's hard to say because we don't really know how either of that worked, and now we're getting Tinkerbell into the mix, with Regina being her enemy, so we'll see where that all goes.

But by far the biggest shocker of the episode was Charming. Now, David has always been one of my favorite characters. In fact, he was my favorite up until I rewatched Season 2, when Hook pulled ahead in the race for my favorite character (although I will always totally love Emma, and Henry. I mean, how can you not love Henry?). But this episode honestly made me hate him a little bit. Like just the way he wasn't trusting Hook at all was getting on my nerves. Yes, Hook is my favorite so that's probably half the reason I was angry, but Hook does know Neverland better than anyone else in that group, so shouldn't Charming be trusting him? Totally just realized something else too but I'll rewatch it to make sure I'm correct before anything else.

The ending though. What IS going to happen to Charming? We know that he was hit with a poison arrow, one that will put him through a slow and painful death. But he's such a main character. They can't kill him, right? That just doesn't seem logical at all. But then how in the galaxy does Charming survive? I'm just speculating here, but I'm pretty sure it's going to have something to do with Hook, because that makes a lot of sense. I won't say anything more though.

But aside from all that, I realized something else, something that totally made me really happy. Neal wasn't in this episode at all! It was just such smooth sailing on the CaptainSwan front!

Oh, and I almost forgot! One of my friends suggested that every week I Disneybound as a character from Once Upon a Time. So last week was Emma of course, and this week I did Mary Margaret! The dress is really more of a Belle dress, but I added the Cardigan, hairstyle and some flats to make it more Mary Margaret. I can't wait for next week's though!!!

Anyways, here's today's Disney History: 1927: Walt Disney watches the Warner Brothers preview of The Jazz Singer (one of the first films to feature sound) at the Warner Theater in New York City. Walt realizes that he needs to add audio to his cartoons.

Have a magical day!
