Day 1266: Quoting

I've been doing these Quote Canvases for a while now, and I really believe the hardest part about them is choosing the quote you want most and then finding a design that will fit both the space and the theme. For the above work in progress, it wasn't that difficult, although it took some debating for sure. We knew we wanted something Pixar, and because it was going in our kitchen, we figured that Ratatouille would be a fair place to pick a quote from.

But with so many great Disney quotes out there, how can you really pick just one? I mean, here are some of the brainstormed quotes that we've discussed for various canvas works:

"Have Courage and Be Kind" - Cinderella

"All our Dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." - Walt Disney

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible." - Walt Disney

"Adventure is Out There" - Up

"Just Keep Swimming" - Finding Nemo

"Oh yes, the past can hurt. But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it." - The Lion King

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think." - Winnie the Pooh

To be far, those were just a few of the options that we've considered over time, and I would love to know what you'd put on a quote canvas like the ones I create! Let me know in the comments!

Day 76: Disney in Concert

Today I headed to a nearby city to attend a Symphony Orchestra Concert, and this time it was specifically Disney. While we've attending this particular concert before (although with a different Symphony Orchestra), it was just as magical the second time!

They played a wide variety of music, as you can see below. There was one change though...instead of the Rescuers Down Under, they performed selections from Pirates of the Caribbean, which I thoroughly enjoyed. And because of technical difficulties, we were also able to hear parts of Aladdin and Mulan twice, and the entire Little Mermaid selection a second time as well. There was also an encore of It's A Small World...and of course we all sang along!

And since I went shopping yesterday and got a few new colorful additions to my wardrobe, I decided to Disneybound as Winnie the Pooh to the concert. I was pretty excited about my new yellow converse, which I've been wanting for a while. I'm pretty sure you'll see them in many Disneybounds in the future.

The concert was a great way to spend my afternoon. Sadly, I've had to somewhat leave the magical world of Disney behind and spend the rest of my day writing essays for an application, but it was still a wonderful way to start off a busy week!

Here's today's Disney History: 1999: Test Track officially opens at Walt Disney World's Epcot. Sponsored by General Motors, the attraction is the fastest ride ever designed (At this time) by Disney Imagineers....guests can reach speeds of 65 mph! The ride has been up and running since December 1998.

Day 70: Dancing

This morning, as I have done for many of the past mornings that I've sat at school, I listened to some park music off of Youtube. I have some park music downloaded onto my phone, but not all of it, especially since I've been avoiding backing my phone up to my laptop because my laptop is being picky.

Anyway, my current favorite park song is from, guess where...EPCOT. Of course, it's from around World Showcase at one of my favorite times during any park day...the time of Illuminations.

Before the show there's always amazing music that plays around World Showcase as the announcements are made of "In just five minutes.." (Which I just happened to find myself saying this morning for no particular reason). When my brother and I were little, there's video of him dancing to the music, and it's quite amusing. I won't blackmail him though and put it up here, but take my word for it...it was hilariously cute. The song he danced to is none other than Busindre Reel, which I happened to find on Youtube a few weeks back. I've been listening to it almost nonstop...which probably isn't good...but it is a catchy tune for sure...certainly something my brother could dance to...and he still does as we stand and wait for the fireworks to begin.

Here's today's Disney History: 1977: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is released. It is a compilation consisting of Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.

Day 34: History

If you didn't notice yesterday, or the day before, I've begun my Daily Disney History posting here, something I've been doing on my Facebook Account for the last month.

This, obviously, won't be a long blog post, as I'm really just talking quickly about this...since I've had an extremely long day, but I wanted to explain how the entire thing works, and what I hope to do with it in the future.

I use GoogleDocs a lot...more than I ever used to. I create a separate document for each month, and then organize it by day. Then I search for something that happened on that day, record it, and then as the days go by I just copy and paste from the document. It's easy enough to do.

In the future, I'm hoping to create pictures for each day, and go back and do the ones I missed. This takes a lot of time, and since I already have several other personal projects, as well as school work that I'm doing, this might get to be a little difficult. It just looks like I'm going to have to use my time wisely and plan everything out. I've got a lot I want to do and not a lot of time to do it, but I will get it done!!! =)

So here's today's Disney History: 1925: John Fiedler, the original voice of Piglet in many of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh movies and TV programs, is born in Platteville, Wisconsin.
