Day 653: Gummi Bears

They say you learn something new everyday, and I fully believe that. As much as there is out there about Disney that I do know, it's blatantly obvious there's even more that I don't know. I try pretty hard to experience as much of the Disney fandom as I can, especially since starting this blog. I've followed more Facebook groups and I read the official Disney blogs and get newsletters and recipes through my email. It's a pretty nice system, when I have time to take advantage of it.

But one thing I didn't know even existed up until a few days ago was this: The Gummi Bears TV show.

This is one of those things that I sort of stumbled across and looked at it completely puzzled for a few minutes before actually going out and figuring out what it was all about. Granted, it's physically impossible for me to have seen this show during it's run, since it was on TV a few years before I was even born, much less watching cartoons on television. But I still felt like I needed to share it. After all, it's one of those things that I just found astonishing.

Do you remember this TV show? Or are you in my boat and are currently completely confused about the fact that Disney made an entire television show about Gummi Bears?

Have a magical day!

Day 637: Keep Going

There's always so much work to be done at college, especially when you come off of a summer filled with side projects that all require their own individual attention. Then you add on some homework and practicing and classes and the simple need for sleep that a college student faces and everything just gets absolutely crazy.

Which is why it's often difficult for me to continue my Disney Movie Rewatch.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm not giving up on the entire challenge. After all, I've gotten further this time than I did the previous two times I attempted it. The first time I made it through so few movies I don't even remember where I stopped, and the second time I distinctly remember ending at Alice in Wonderland. Since I'm over a third of the way done now I figure that stopping would be ridiculous.

So today I watched The Aristocats, which has to be one of my favorites. Not in the top five, but probably in the top ten simply because of the music. I love jazz, as you probably well know, and this movie is completely filled with it. Plus there are kittens, and who doesn't love kittens?

But seriously, there are SO many Animated Disney films, and it's really interesting to see where everything started and head from that to what we see on the screen today. There's a huge difference and it's sort of beautiful to watch the progression, plus it really makes you appreciate the differences between hand drawn animation and digital animation. They're both art forms, both beautiful and both different. And each film has it's own storyline, although I find it amusing how in some of those middle films they use the same voice actors several times over. Such iconic parts, all by the same people.

As I continue on with my rewatch, I encourage you to join me or start your own rewatch of all the Disney films! It really is an interesting project and the great thing is there isn't really a time limit. It's probably best to watch them close together (and I hope to have them all finished by the end of the year), but you can space it out however you want!

Have a magical day!

Day 428: Frozen is an Open Door

It hasn't even been a month since my last YouTube video post, which was Let It Parody, but there are just so many wonderful Frozen parodies out there right now that I couldn't NOT include this! Plus, with Frozen passing the $1 billion mark in the box office (second animated film to do so, seventh $1 billion film for Disney, and the first film in four years to stay in the box office top 10 for all 14 weeks of its theater run), PLUS those Oscars the other night, gosh! This is just great!

So here are some more of my favorite Frozen themed videos on YouTube! And boy are there a lot of them! Never before have I done not just one but TWO YouTube video posts on ONE FILM! Just goes to show how brilliant Frozen is!

Google Translate "Let It Go"

This viral video has started a whole new trend on YouTube, putting things into Google Translate. This parody is hilarious, plus she's doing more (there's already one for "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid too!). I really don't think she should "give up" on this idea!

Let It Go & Vivaldi's Winter - The Piano Guys

It can't be a parody party without The Piano Guys! Seriously these people are like half the reason I want to learn how to play Cello, and one just can't go on YouTube without seeing at least one of their spectacular parodies. My personal favorite? Cello Wars.

Frozen - A Musical

Did you really think this wouldn't happen? AVbyte does it again, this time featuring Elsa with the other Disney Princesses! I've shared their other Princess Musicals before too, and while the original is still my favorite, it's kind of hard not to like this!

When It's NOT OKAY to Sing "Let it Go"

Shovell sent me this one and it's just hilarious. I mean, while there are a lot of times in life when we should "let things go" there are also a lot of times when letting go is just a really, really bad idea. Warning, this video may produce some feels.

Let It Go - Alex Boye

My friend Jessica would be furious if I didn't include this one, because this parody is her favorite of all the Frozen ones out there. If you DO follow Piano Guys, you'll remember Alex Boye from their "Paradise" video a while back, but this one seriously does blow most other parodies of Let it Go away. I mean, with 22+ million videos, who can argue?

Let it Go - Jimmy Fallon, Idina Menzel & The Roots

It's not really a secret anymore that this happened last night, and it was awesome. Plus, Idina Menzel is awesome. Just...awesome. I think this is probably my favorite of the parodies so far...then again it DOES have Idina in it so it's like a half parody and I personally love the original the best...sooooo....yeah.

That's about it in this round though. Gosh, that brings us up to like 10 Frozen videos already. 10! Who knows what will happen next, because I'm sure these videos won't stop, not with everything going on and the DVD release just weeks away!

Have a magical day!
