Day 1182: Women of the Tomb
Every once and a while you have an opportunity right in your own community to do something awesome, and sometimes it's something you maybe normally wouldn't do. I'm not an actor, not by a long shot. After all, most of what you see in my vlogs is just plain me. That's right, I'm actually that crazy and make ridiculous plans to see all the firework spectaculars in one night. Those are everyday thoughts.
With acting though, you get an opportunity to sort of be someone else for a while, or explore a side of yourself that you normally wouldn't. This year, I had the chance to be a part of a skit at my church on Easter Sunday called "Women of the Tomb," and honestly, it was a lot of fun. Obviously, as I just mentioned, I don't get many chances to act, despite the fact that I did some minor acting when I was younger.
How does this all relate back to Disney? To be honest I'm not entirely sure, but at the same time, it does make me think about how I'm going about making videos. It's about being real, and entertaining, at the same time. You have to have a connection with the audience through a video the same way an actor does on stage, and that's not always easy, especially when the time between a video and it's appearance on the internet, for me, can be months and months.
I like to think, however, that the little bit of acting I manage to do from time to time keeps me on track with my videos. Ultimately though, it's all about the practice. The longer I work on my YouTube videos, the better I get at editing, and the easier it is to sit in front of the camera, even if I'm not at Disney World. I don't think I'm ready to go far beyond my church for acting though, so I think I'll stick to playing my saxophone and filming YouTube Videos at Disney World.
Have a magical day!

Day 825: The Crossword
First things first...Happy Easter everyone, even if I am writing this at almost 10 at night and Easter, for much of the world, is already over. Regardless, it's been a long day filled with Disney things, and you all know what today meant. That's right, Easter is when Mom decided Dad and the brother were finding out about our Disney Trip this June, meaning that they, as of now, finally know about this extra vacation that's thrown in to celebrate my parents' anniversary.
Now...after all my talk over the past month and a half or so about this trip and how to tell them about it, I'm sure you're wondering how it all worked out. After a long period of time trying to figure out how to surprise them while kind of making them work for it, I came up with a crossword puzzle for them to figure out, which looked something like the following. Actually that's the crossword...it looks exactly like the following.
This isn't the complete one, as the ones they worked on today also had specific letters boxed in that, when they unscrambled them, read "Walt Disney World June Sixth-Tenth." It took them what felt like an eternity to get all the answers...although they probably would have finished faster if they actually worked together instead of just sitting and copying off of one another every time one of them figured out a word. With a little help from me, it didn't take long to unscramble the letters though, and then the secret was out.
Now, maybe they could have bee a little more excited about the whole thing. If it had been me I probably would have cried, although they are guys, so they probably wanted to appear more masculine or something. Either way, the crossword worked great, especially since some of the clues and words definitely had to do with the trip itself, such as "The Iron Spike Room," which led to "Wilderness Lodge," the resort at which we're staying.
Other than that, my cousin made me this lovely present, which will have a place of honor in my bedroom at home since I unfortunately don't have that perfect place for it in my dorm room right now. Next year, on the other hand, I might be able to fit it in. Either way, I love it, and it's definitely just another way Disney appeared in my Easter Celebrations today!
That all being said, I hope you had a lovely Easter! I'll see you all tomorrow!
Have a magical day!

Day 475: Easter
It's yet another holiday here in our world, and that means another Holiday inspired Blog post. Or somewhat at least. I guess Easter has never really been a super Disney-Holiday for any of us, or me at least. As a kid, Easter was always at my house and we would do the egg hunt and everything and there's church with the Easter breakfast and it just actually ends up being a really long day.
This Easter wasn't much different honestly, with my day beginning at church, and then lunch at my house with family, and then Once with Shovell. But we ended out the day by watching Saving Mr. Banks, which is always a great choice of a film. Shovell hadn't seen it yet, and so we just decided it was a good idea. And guess what guys, I only cried twice this time! That's a lot better than the 7 times I cried the first time, right? I think so.
But overall, I don't see why Disney couldn't be a wonderful happy, springtime filled holiday! And lately the Disney parks have taken a step towards doing just that, with an Easter Egg hunt and meet and greets with the Disney Rabbits. Gosh, those character meet and greets just really make me want to go back to Disney.
Around our house otherwise, not much Disney was to be found this Easter, which is kind of depressing when you really think about it. It's always fun to find little bits of Disney within my holidays. Although I did have a great conversation about Once Upon A Time with one of my friends, and we all know how entertaining I get when that becomes the topic. That's about it though.
So I suppose we'll wrap this blog post up a bit earlier than my normal length. Easter was apparently not the most interesting of holidays this year! But there's plenty more to come!
Have a magical day & Happy Easter!
