Day 956: In the Same Building

The D23 EXPO is a spectacular place, and I almost forgot just how much I missed it in the four years between the two I've attended. My first EXPO was spent mostly with my parents, getting the lay of the land and understanding this new foreign world of conventions. But this time I was ready, and I definitely met many, MANY wonderful people!

With D23 you have to keep your eyes open 24/7 for people you just might know! In fact, as I was walking to the convention on Saturday I happened to recognize Nick Pitera as he headed the same direction! I caught up to him at the stoplight and we snapped a quick picture on the other side. I think it's safe to say my hands were shaking like they were about to fall off...

I was also lucky enough to finally meet Keith Lapinig and Peter Armado! Their High School Musical Cosplay was ON POINT and they even recognized my Emma Swan outfit for the day! They're just such delightful people and I can't express to you enough how much you need to go find them on social media!

On Saturday I happened upon some of the Thingamavlogs crew as well, and then I headed back to their meetup on Saturday because it was obviously necessary! These guys make my day. In fact, all Disney YouTubers make my day! Thank you guys for your absolutely kind comments and praise! It's because of Disney YouTubers like you that I started doing Disney videos!

But of course, I do have one Disney YouTuber that inspired me more than any other, and that's MrCheezyPop, AKA Maxwell Glick! Getting to see Max was one of the total highlights of the convention for me, as it seems there's just never enough time to talk about all things Disney! Hopefully I'll see you again soon, whether it be back at Disneyland or at my home of Walt Disney World!

I'm sure it's not hard to guess the other highlight of the convention for me though. If you don't know already, I'm a HUGE OUAT Fan, so attending the panel at the D23 EXPO was basically a dream come true. And you know what, as if it wasn't good enough being in the same room as Ginny, Lana, Adam, and Eddy, they just had to go and throw in Josh Dallas too. I was in the same room as Josh Dallas. I'm still not over it.

However, the D23 EXPO was FILLED with surprise guests all over the place. While I wasn't able to attend the live action panel (WHY DIDN'T I?!?), I CAN say that I was in the same building as Harrison Ford, which is the closest I've ever gotten ever. Additionally, I was in the same building as George Lucas, Johnny Depp, Ellen, Chris Evans, and Dick Van Dyke, and also in the same room as Disney Legends Richard Sherman and Marty Sklar, as well as the one and only Stan Lee! Add in the OUAT Cast and all the other awesome people and it makes for a really awesome weekend!

If you went to the D23 EXPO, who did you get to see, and if you weren't there, who would you WANT to see? Let me know in the comments below!

Have a magical day!

Day 302: Youtube Goes Spooky!

It's almost Halloween, and of course there are a few Disney Youtube videos out there that just don't fit in any other time of year. So I figured that, especially since it's been a while, I would have a Youtube post on some of my favorite Disney themed Youtube videos.

Pat Carroll reads The Haunted Mansion:

Ok, so you may not know Pat Carroll off the top of your head, but in reality you do know her. She's the voice of Ursula from The Little Mermaid. And of course, in this video she's doing a reading from The Haunted Mansion. I watched it only yesterday but I could not stop laughing! It's just too adorable and funny all at the same time.

Nick Pitera - This is Halloween:

I love Nick Pitera, like seriously, so when Oh My Disney worked with him to put out this one, of my favorite Halloween Song, I was just like "YEAH!" Of course it's on this list because, well, why wouldn't it be here?

Disney Villains Take Over Disneyland:

Since I follow pretty much every Disney page on Facebook, I get the updates for all the new videos, and this one came out a few weeks ago. I actually shared it on Facebook because it just really made me laugh pretty hard. It's not every day you can pair up Disney Villains, a Disney Parka and Christmas Music and make it all work logically. It's pretty epic.

The Cadaver Dans:

Ok, so I just found this one right now, but it felt like a good way to end this post of spooky Youtube videos. I love that Disney puts this stuff out because then even those of us who can't be there can still kind of see it. It's just kind of nice since I'm not at Disney 99% of the time and I always feel like I miss way too much.

And so, there are just a few of my favorite Disney Halloween Youtube Videos. =)

Here's today's Disney History: 1971: A 90-minute NBC-TV Special, The Grand Opening of Walt Disney World, shows the park to approximately 52 million people in the U.S.

Have a magical day!

Day 95: Youtube

For those that don't really know me, I'll tell you right away...I'm a fan of Youtube. Well, that's not really the proper way to say it. I am a fan of many people ON Youtube, so I decided that since I was on Youtube today trying to make my mood a bit better than it currently is, I'd go through and share some of my favorite Disney inspired videos!

A Day at the Magic Kingdom/Epcot - Tilt Shift Videos:

Probably two of my favorite Youtube videos put out by Disney (if not my favorite period), are the tilt shift videos. The music, the film, the idea, everything just captures the magic of Disney so well, and it's nice that whenever I'm feeling down I can just go and watch one of these (or both as I generally find myself doing), and my day is instantly better. I strongly suggest watching them because they're amazing.

One Man Disney Movie - Nick Pitera

I'm not sure how you couldn't love this video. It's gone viral (10,000,000 views and counting), and it's been seen by a lot of people, but it's still certainly one that if you haven't seen, you need to watch it, especially if you love Disney movies!

Disney Medley - Doo Wop Shop

Here's another one that's a singing video...but it is very well done and quite entertaining, especially since it's a live performance. My favorite part, Hercules. But that seems to be the favorite part of a lot of people. They all have wonderful voices though, and the melody is great.

That's all the videos for now...as I can't share them all at once, obviously. But there's plenty of others out there to watch, and I'm sure I'll do another few posts just on my favorites (next time will most certainly include some of my favorite comedic ones).

Here's today's Disney History: 1614: Pocahontas (the daughter of the chief of the Powhatan Indians) marries John Rolfe (a tobacco planter) in Jamestown, Virginia. The marriage will ensure peace between the Jamestown settlers and the Native Indians for several years.

Have a magical day!
