Day 567: Match the Quotes

Time for another fun game when it comes to Oh My Disney!

Making up blog posts is weird simply because I take the simplest thing and make it into an entire blog post but THAT'S OK! Because every little thing in my daily life that somehow relates back to Disney certainly has a lot to do with the whole point of this blog.

Anyway, right. Game time.

You can play the game for yourself HERE if you want to follow along!

First off, yes, I am the person reciting all the lines in the Haunted Mansion stretching room out loud, and I'm working on learning those last couple words to "Yo Ho." Oh, and let's not even underestimate my ability to say every line of Spaceship Earth in time and with an accent.

So this quiz should be a breeze.

"Thank the phoenicians." HAHAHA. Spaceship Earth.

"You see the excellence of this invention?" Not going to lie, this ones a bit harder, but that's probably because it comes from Disneyland and I obviously have less experience there. Either way, Indiana Jones.

"And, of course, these little beauties." SOARIN'!

"You are not the first to pass this way nor shall you be the last." A moment of silence for Malestrom.

"We're not gonna make it, we're not gonna make it!" And yet we made it back, with a Dinosaur.

"The backside of water!" is the 8th wonder of the world...at least it is on Jungle Cruise.

"Make it a stretch...in fact, make it a super stretch." Another one that's a little harder since I don't ride this...ever...but we all should know this is Rock N' Roller Coaster!

"I'd like to borrow some aluminum foil, a clothespin, and a candle." Oh Bill Nye, what are you up to now?

"Some imagination, huh?" *Drastic hand movements timed to the music of the Fantasmic Finale*

"A salute to all nations, but mostly America." Probably my favorite Muppets line of all time.

"Kindly step all the way in please and make room for everyone." Is this even a question?

"But keep a weather eye open, mates, and hold on tight, with both hands if you please." Mates gave it away, didn't it?

"We're going to make you all disappear!" Now I'm going to be singing all night.

"I know you're in a hurry, hurry, hurry, but for your safety, safety, safety." I don't go to Disneyland often, and I've never even been on this one, but for some reason without even reading the options I knew it was California Screamin'.

"Now, something is about to happen that will change all that." How is that I've never been on half of these and still know all the answers? TOT.

A perfect score, huh? Go figure.

What was your score? Were these easy, or hard or somewhere in between? And are you like me? Do you narrate every attraction simply because you can?

Have a magical day!

Day 435: Who Are You?

If you're up to beat with all the trends on social media, you'll know already that one thing that's seriously "In" right now is the "Who are you" quizzes. There's stuff for "What kind of cupcake are you?" to "What should your real superpower be?" to plenty of Disney quizzes all over the place. I figured that it might be fun to go and do a couple of these. I mean, it seems like a good idea, right? I tend to take most of them, since my friends will send me interesting ones, or I'll just happen to come across one here and there. Either way, there are tons of quizzes out there to take, so here's seven Disney themed ones from Zimbio. To take the quiz, just click the title! It's a link and will take you to the quiz so you can take it right along with me.

Which TV town should you live in?

Obviously I only included this because of Storybrooke, but I have to laugh. When it comes to Disney or Once or Star Wars, it's pretty easy for me to rig the quiz to give me the result I want. When I answered a few of the first questions on this one, I knew for sure that Storybrooke had to be an option, so I was like "Country, Witch, I offer him a ride, Protect the realm, Superhero, ABC, My Family, A spontaneous adventure, By Car, Purple Fog (ok, isn't that a bit obvious?), Pongo (Ok...the dalmatian), The train tracks and finally, Magic (because that's not apparent at all)." Of course, it gave me Storybrooke. All of those answers easily say Storybrooke. I laughed and was like YES!

But here's where it got funny. I retook the quiz with my real answers, changing a few of them here and there. The funny part? I STILL GOT STORYBROOKE! Seems I know where I need to live.

Which Disney Prince is Your True Love?

I took a similar quiz on Buzzfeed a while ago, and it gave me Aladdin. It was wrong. Very wrong. That's ok though, because Zimbio obviously knows what's going on. It gave me my REAL Disney Prince True Love, Flynn Rider. Obviously...he is my favorite, and I did run across half of Epcot to meet him. You know, priorities.

Which Muppet Are You?

Now, I'm not sure what it gave me the first time, although I'm pretty sure it gave me Kermit. That's the funny thing. If you take a quiz now, and then retake it months from now, it's quite possible that your results will change. Interesting how we, as people, change over time, huh? Either way, it now tells me I'm Scooter, and I guess that's pretty accurate...although I don't know if I'm a natural born second-in-command. I think I tend to be the leader...but then again the rest of it is pretty true, considering I do tend to overthink things.

Which Avengers Character Are You?

Now, the first time I took this I specifically remember getting Fury. But just like the Muppets quiz, I took it a long time ago and my answers are probably a little bit different. So this time I got Hulk. Certainly not my favorite of The Avengers (Iron Man all the way), but I'll take it. I mean, having a bit of a dark side while still being a hero sounds pretty awesome. And I do like wide open spaces.

Which Disney Sidekick Are You?

Of course I'd get Tinker Bell. Does that really surprise you? Ok, so maybe this quiz has nothing to do with the fact that Captain Hook has skyrocketed in my list of favorite Disney characters, bringing the film Peter Pan right along with it, but still. I think being Tink (hehehe) is pretty brilliant. Plus, it seems to fit since people always say I've got some mischief up my sleeve at all times...and I guess I'm pretty stubborn a lot of the time. Oh...and if I'm Tink that means I get wings...so that's pretty awesome too.

Which Disney Villain Are You?

Sooo I didn't get Hook...but that's ok. This isn't a Once Upon A Time quiz. No, this is a Villains quiz, and I guess that if I had to pick one to be, it would be this one. Maleficent is just pretty darn awesome, so why wouldn't you want to be her? Ok...so maybe her plan wasn't super well thought out...she did get slayed as a dragon, but at least she got to be one! How cool is that? Being a dragon! And bonus: the Maleficent float in Festival of Fantasy is AMAZING!

What Star Wars Character Are You?

OF COURSE I'M HAN SOLO! DUH! No seriously...this should be really obvious. And while I can cheat it out to give me Han, I don't have to. I can answer truthfully and it will still give me him! Woohoo! Scoundrels all around! Then again...I do own the Millennium Falcon, and my brother is my co-pilot Chewbacca...and my cat is Princess LeiaBelle, so is this really off? No. I don't think so.

BONUS: What Once Upon A Time Character Are You?

Every time I take a Once Upon A Time Character quiz it gives me Charming. I guess it's pretty right, I probably am kind of like Charming...but I honestly know how to get it to give me Emma or Hook as well, and I can easily see bits of myself in both of them too. Plus Regina...that's who it gives me if I answer the first question as Evil. Because really that first one rules out half of the characters right away. In other words, does that make me everyone? No...I am most certainly not Snow or Belle or Rumple. That is just not me.

So for now I'll be cool with Charming. He's pretty awesome.

I'm pretty sure I could do another whole post on these quizzes...and I'm sure I will in the future. It's kind of fun to take them. Good times. So...if you took the quizzes along with me, what did you get?

Have a magical day!

Day 405: ONE MONTH LEFT!

It's not really a secret to anyone that knows me that March is going to be just about the best month ever this year. SO MUCH IS HAPPENING, and it all starts exactly a month from today (ok...less than because really this is a countdown to March 9...you'll understand in a minute). BUT STILL!

So what's so exciting about March? Let's review, why don't we?

March 2: The Oscars

Who isn't excited for these? Especially since Idina Menzel is performing!!! You can bet I'll be watching, as long as I'm not totally downridden with Homework or completely freaking out over the fact that a week later...

March 9 : ONCE UPON A TIME RETURNS

There are not enough words on the planet to describe how excited I am for the return of my favorite TV show. I've been ready since December for it to come back, but I have to say that I'm pretty proud of how I've handled this hiatus. I mean, Once has played a very important role in my life since coming to college, so I'm excited for it to return. And I mean it. Without OUAT I wouldn't be taking my Fairy Tales class right now, and I am enjoying that to the ends of the earth. It also gives me something to get my mind off of just about any problem in the world...unless the problem is whether or not Hook will ever end up with Emma. Then it solves no problems. Either way: #WickedIsComing and I am more than ready.

On a side note, I guess you could say that I'm excited for March 6 too, since Wonderland returns then!

March 17 : St. Patrick's Day

I'm just excited. It's a thing that happens when one of your favorite actors is Irish...plus...

March 18 : WALT DISNEY WORLD

...to continue from my last one, yes, on the 18th I head out to WDW! I'M SO EXCITED! Even if I will be spending literally the entire trip with a video camera in my hand, rushing from attraction to attraction to get all the video that I need (there are a few things I can probably push off...meaning that I'll do it by a list of importance, but I have to get most of it or else I'll be doomed come summer when I try to make this video). Either way, any little bit of time spent at home is a great time...and I could not be more excited. And yes, don't worry...I AM WAY MORE EXCITED ABOUT THIS THAN I AM FOR ONCE!!!!

OH YEAH! Also on March 18...there's another AWESOME THING that happens: FROZEN IS RELEASED TO DVD!!!! I haven't been this excited about a DVD since Tangled (which, in case you were wondering...still beats out for my favorite Princess Movie. Frozen hits in at a strong #2).

Also in March let's remember that CATCHING FIRE comes out on DVD, and on March 21, Divergent is released to Theaters, as is MUPPETS MOST WANTED!

Gosh March is going to be awesome! I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff too...but MARCH!

Have a magical day!

Day 341: The Muppets Go Christmas

After a long hard day of working on catching up this blog (and I mean day...it takes a long time, especially when you keep getting interrupted), there's nothing I like to do more than sit down and watch a movie...while blogging about it of course. I still have several blog posts to make up. Sadly the four posts I have left to write all require actual work, meaning more than just sitting on my computer and writing for a while until a blog post takes shape. But I'll survive.

So Megan texted me that she was going to watch the Muppets Christmas Carol, so I jumped up from my seat at the kitchen table and ran to my bedroom closet where my copy of the film sits. Only I have it on VHS, and when I opened the box. Well, you can guess what I found. I had to rewind it. And because half my stuff from college is still packed up, I had to use the old VHS Player...which rewinds super duper slow.

Finally now I'm watching it though, while I blog of course. Hopefully I'll still have time to fit in another Christmas movie tonight. Well, it's sort of a Christmas movie, sort of not. You'll see though (on the December 11 post to be exact).

I actually don't think that I've seen the Muppets Christmas Carol, or if I have, I haven't seen it in a really long time. I found the VHS copy of it a few months ago and couldn't wait to watch it. In fact, I forgot I had it until Megan mentioned that she was watching it. So here I am watching. And I love it. I mean, I love Christmas, and the Christmas Carol and the ADORE the Muppets...so it's just a perfect fit.

All in all, I think there are a lot of versions of the Christmas Carol, so that kind of makes it lose it's potency and specialness after a while. I mean, every Christmas we see at least one version of it probably, but that's ok, because I'm more than happy to watch the Disney versions. They're just all so wonderful!

Here's today's Disney History: 1999: Disney's Direct-to-video Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas is released, as is Inspector Gadget, The Jungle Book and The Little Mermaid.

Have a magical day!

Day 267: The Art of Disney

I think I've decided that this week I'm just going to do a bunch of Pinterest stuff. There's just so much on the internet that I see that really makes my life so much better when I'm sitting and working. It's what I do during my breaks, go on Pinterest or Tumblr, and they really do bring in a lot of Disney to my life.

Today's topic, another one of my Disney boards: The Art of Disney.

To start us off, let's have some Peter Pan, in honor or Once Upon a Time, of course!

And then some Princess artwork. I'm pretty sure that I will have the third one on my wall in a frame someday because I really do just love it that much, although the first one and the one from Tangled are absolutely beautiful too.

And to finish it off, you have to have a little bit of Mickey Mouse, right? I personally think this one is pretty adorable.

That's about all for today though. It's been rather quiet around here, so that's probably why this is a Pinterest week, but who knows. Obviously I own none of the above artwork, and just like I should put a disclaimer on that for you.

And Frumpstagram! Here's one that narrates "adventure!"

Here's today's Disney History: 1936: Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets and the original voice of Kermit the Frog, is born James Maury Henson in Greenville, Mississippi. Henson first named his puppets, "Muppets" in 1954 while working as a producer of the Washington, D.C. TV show, Sam and Friends. Henson was the leading force behind the Muppets long run in the television series Sesame Street and The Muppet Show and films such as the Muppet Movie and creator of advanced puppets for projects like Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth and Return of the Jedi. Sadly in May 1990, Henson passed away suddenly at the age of 53 while in negotiations to sell his company to Disney. He was named a Disney Legend in 2011.

Have a magical day!

Day 185: A Tribute to All Nations, But Mostly America!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! And if you are reading this and you aren't for America...well, I hope you enjoy your did enjoy your National "Day" too! I know Canada Day was just the other day (I celebrated!).

But you see, a lot of this holiday reminds me of Disney. In fact, exactly two years ago I was at Disney, and specifically I saw the fireworks at Epcot on this day in 2011. I was down there for the National FBLA Convention, and my mom and I stayed through the holiday. So that means that I've technically spent two different holidays at Disney. The Fourth of July and Thanksgiving. Then again, my birthday is coming up too, so if that counts as a holiday then make it three.

I love the fireworks at Disney on the fourth, or in this year's case, during the entire week of the fourth. Those lucky enough to be at Disney right now have huge firework shows each and every night. I miss them my one day. ONE DAY. That's right. They end the 7th and I get there on the 8th. Then again, I probably wouldn't get to see them anyway because our flight gets in so late, but STILL!

I'm actually spending most of my day working on stuff for Florida and for my Graduation party this Saturday.  It's turning out to be quite the work, but that's alright. Either way, I do love working on videos, and that's what I'm doing right now, so I'm all good. Plus, only four days until Florida, and that's more than enough reason to be in a great mood.

So, I figured I would share something from Disney and the Muppets, because, as Sam Eagle does say, it's a tribute to all nations, but mostly America.

And here's today's Disney History: 2011: The night skies over Walt Disney World Resort light up with special patriotic pyrotechnic shows on this Independence Day. At Epcot, sky-watchers check out "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" enhanced by "The Heartbeat of Freedom," an overture of traditional Americana themes displayed in a pyrotechnic and laser light event. (That's what I saw!)

Have a magical Fourth of July!

Day 152: Disney Memes

I follow a lot of different blogs, but one of my personal favorites is Oh My Disney, which is an official Disney blog that is pretty much tailored to the younger generation...my generation. Either way, it's a pretty great thing, and today they put out a post of Disney Memes...some of which I felt were pretty entertaining. So here are my favorites:

I just felt like those might make you smile, as they certainly brought a smile to my face! That's really what Everyday Disney is about too, isn't it? How Disney impacts my everyday life...and this did, so there you go!

Here's today's Disney History: 1937: Actor Morgan Freeman, the new narrator of Disney World's updated The Hall of Presidents, is born in Memphis, Tennessee.

Have a magical day!

This post was written on June 3, since I was unable to write due to finals and graduation.

Day 136: Indiana Jones...the Fourth One

As I am often known to do, I put in a movie to play while I worked on my homework. That's right, I love movies so much I watch them while doing homework. Granted, most people would get distracted, but since discovering Star Wars, I've learned how to make it so I can still work and watch at the same time (granted...I generally watch Empire and I only pay attention to the parts Han is in anyway).

So what did I put in? Indy of course! I've been wanting to watch the Fourth one for the last few weeks and decided it was about time...and I realize a few things while watching:

1. If Harrison can play Indy...he can play Han.

I think there's been a lot of talk about if Harrison Ford can accurately reprise the role of Han Solo...and the same goes for the other original actors. But personally I think that if any of them can do it...Harrison can! Easily! I mean, at 60 something he was still doing some of his own stunts for something like an Indy movie...which isn't exactly light stuff. Granted, he has a stunt double for some of it, but he's always been one to do many of his own stunts, and he's still in pretty good shape. Yeah, he's older and obviously looks it, but there are still those times when he really does look like his younger self. My brother and I would just go "He looks like Indy...there" because it's true...all of a sudden it's like he's 30 years younger.

Now if the others can do that, I'm not sure. But Han Solo...he'll be just fine.

2. The movie would have been so much better without the aliens.

One of the things about this movie is that a lot of people don't give it enough credit. Yes, it was made how many years (30?) after the original Indiana Jones film, but that doesn't make it any less of an Indy movie! There are certainly some things that could have been better...but in the grand scheme of things, my order for the Indy movies goes like this (from favorite to least favorite): Raiders, Last Crusade, Crystal Skull, Temple of Doom. Why? Because of the storylines! I just felt that Temple was really weak, and the one thing I really hated about it is that it didn't have a ton of historical references like the other three. Crystal Skull had that, just as Raiders and Last Crusade did! They had a historical portion to it that really made it seem more believable.

That believableness was killed though, by the Aliens.

Now, I'm not saying that the ending was all together bad, because it wasn't. I loved the idea that their treasure wasn't gold, but knowledge instead. But something with the alien idea (if that's really what they were...since it never really says I guess) just didn't sit well with me and kind of ruined the whole thing. Granted, HF is still amazing and it's still very much an Indy movie (one filled with too many priceless moments to count!), but I just felt like it could have been a lot better than it was.

3. It's set up for a sequel, and therefore...they should get on that.

Harrison's in, Spielberg's in...Lucas...get your act together! Enough said.

That's what I guess I got out of half-watching the movie, since I was working at the same time. It certainly won't be the last time I watch it (I think I watch Star Wars and Indy every few months...and that goes for the other movie I'm watching tonight: Tangled), because really...one can never have too much Indy.

Here's today's Disney History: 1990: Muppet creator, filmmaker, and television producer Jim Henson dies of pneumonia less than 24 hours after being rushed to a New York hospital. The fifty-three-old was misdiagnosed earlier in the week and had he been put on antibiotics only 8 hours earlier, it is believed Henson would have survived. A memorial service for Henson will air on PBS and draw millions of viewers and dozens of celebrities in reverence for his life and work. He was completing negotiations with the Disney company to include his Muppets at their theme parks at the time of his death. Jim Henson's Muppet Vision 3-D will open at the Disney-MGM Studios theme park a year later.
