Day 1471: Carrie Fisher Tribute

It's only been a couple of weeks since we all lost the wonderful Carrie Fisher and her spectacular mother, Debbie Reynolds, and the wounds are certainly still fresh. This Saturday, however, fans from near and far will be gathering at Hollywood Studios to celebrate the lives of these amazing women, and there's plenty for you to get involved in if you're in the area!

You can find all the official information on the event HERE on the Facebook Event Page, but here are just a few of the highlights:

Throughout the day guests will be DisneyBounding their favorite Carrie and Debbie characters, from Princess Leia to Kathy Selden, and you're welcome to join in too! Wear a DisneyBound (being mindful of the costume rules) or dress in your Dapper Best for the event! A group photo will be taken at 2 pm in the courtyard of the Chinese Theater!

Group Rides on Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride are scheduled during the day as well. It's suggested that you get fastpasses for these experiences as well, but something tells me that riding Star Tours with a bunch of Carrie Fisher fans would be pretty entertaining!

Participate in the Group Viewing of 'Star Wars: A Galaxy Far Far Away' at 3:30 in front of the courtyard stage. Again, this sounds like it would be pretty excited when surrounded by fans just like you!

Finish off the evening with a Lightsaber Vigil! Similar to the event held at Downtown Disney at Disneyland recently, the lightsaber vigil will take place in front of the courtyard stage, with Disney presenting favorite Carrie moments on the courtyard screen! Help us pay tribute to Carrie and Debbie in the best way we know how!

Luckily, I'll be attending select portions of the tribute event to celebrate Carrie and Debbie and to help film a tribute video! Information on the filming and how you can be a part of it will be available on the Facebook page and I will share that information here as well when it is available!

I hope to see many of you on Saturday as we celebrate the lives of these women gone too soon! Let's make it an event they'd be proud of!

Have a magical day!

Day 1284: Lost

I can tell you from experience, sadly, that there's nothing worse than having your computer crash. It's happened to me multiple times, and so I stopped putting all of my documents, videos, and pictures on the hard drive of my computer, and started putting them on external drives instead. It allows me to carry it all with me without running the risk of my computer destroying things.

However, when those hard drives fail too you don't have much of an option anymore. Last week my black hard drive, which was essentially my entire computer for the last year and a half, began to crash. Unworried because of a backup drive, I set it aside to deal with after I return from Colorado and didn't think much else of it. And then I was searching deep through the pictures from Disneyland to find a picture for a friend's birthday when I realized that something was wrong. Something was really wrong.

The video from Disneyland wasn't there.

Frantic, I searched my old computer and the rest of the hard drive, hoping that I'd just accidentally moved it somewhere. I hadn't. I called my mom, hoping that maybe I'd given her a copy of the videos, but again, nothing, and then, there, on my desk, sat the black hard drive. For some reason, when I did the data transfer to backup that hard drive onto the new one, it hadn't transferred everything from Disneyland, including the hours and hours of video I'd recorded. I need that video, and I wasn't about to let it soar away.

So now my hard drive is at the repair shop where they're hopefully performing a data transfer to get me my Disneyland files back. It's an intense process, and honestly I'm sort of glad I'll be going to Colorado and won't have to think much about it until I get back. So let's all cross our fingers and hope that the hard drive survives and everything makes it back!

Have a magical day!

Day 1275: Jack of All Trades

One of the most frustrating things about being a photographer is the fact that you can take pictures for other people, but taking pictures of yourself is near impossible. It's not, of course, because even I have worked with self-photography before, setting the camera on a tripod with a time or using a wireless remote, but you ultimately spend more time fussing with the camera in those instances than you do actually taking pictures. So in other words, it works some of the time, but not all the time.

Luckily, my roommate is pretty great at taking pictures after the settings are done and I've shown her a few examples, so for the first time in a while, I have some actual headshots!

Megan and I spent about an hour and a half across the river from our college, taking headshots for both of us, and while it's great to have some new headshots, it was even more fun to explore the area! I spend so much of my time at college in class, doing homework, or now, in the summer, blogging in my apartment, that I rarely get to explore what's actually in the area. Within walking distance we found some really beautiful old buildings, a water fountain that I had way too much fun with, and views of the Fox River that supplied a spectacular background.

Photography, of course, has always been sort of a side project for my entire family. When my brother was born I got my first camera. I was four, and since then I've definitely worked with more than a few different cameras, both in film and digital. Now I usually borrow my Dad's DSLR to achieve the higher quality shots, whether those be of cats on our front porch or in the form of headshots for my friends.

The truth is, I actually love photography, and I would love to spend an entire trip or more just walking around taking pictures of everything at Walt Disney World. The problem? I'm usually videoing, which, in the end, is ultimately more important than taking pictures to post on my Instagram. In the matter of one trip I can film anywhere from 2 to 10 videos if I spend my time correctly, and that's not even including the vlogs.

So I'm left with a choice: to either photograph things or film them. I mean, I can't take pictures and film with only two hands. I'd need three for that, at least if I want to use the DSLR and not my phone. It's a decision that means carrying around two not so light cameras and may ultimately result in only a few pictures or not enough video. In the end I'll probably risk it and bring both though, because there's really no better time to experiment with photography than at Walt Disney World, right?

Have a magical day!

Day 783: Happy Oscars!

I do believe that in the past year I've gained a real respect for everything it takes to put together a film, and I'm sure some of you are sick of hearing about the band trip video by now, but as I face the release of that video on Thursday of this week, watching The Oscars is kind of weird for me. We watched as awards go to cinematographers, directors, actors and writers, among many other things, and I have, if only on a small scale, an understanding of what they all do. Every step of the way through my own band trip video, even if it is just that, a video, I thought of it like a film, a real film, one that I made with the best resources I had available to me. Now, "One Band's Dream" might not be quite the same as "Big Hero 6" or "The Theory of Everything," but on some level, to me, as the creator, it was.

I almost wrote a blog post on this last week, but I do find it unfortunate that creators are literally unable to appreciate their work the same way as an audience, and that's why every reaction is so infinitely important. Every recognition we get for our work is a like a little  nod in our direction, because otherwise we may never even know the gravity or brilliance of what we've done.

Think about it this way:

A writer can read their own book, but they'll never get to read it for the first time. They'll never have the experience of dealing with a cliffhanger and wondering for eternity what will happen in the next novel, because they always know.

The creator of a television show will be able to see their vision come to life on screen, complete for the first time with music and visuals, but they too will never experience a hiatus. They know that the ships of the show will survive, or won't survive.

Those who work on film sets get to be a part of the action. They can watch as things all work in sync, as the cast creates a beautiful picture framed by the cinematographer. And they can be proud of the product they create, but they will always find errors and be their own worst critic.

And that's the point. While, as creators, we CAN be extremely proud of the product we put out, at the same time we will never have those first experiences with it. We will always find that one little flaw that's in the film, while others sit and watch in awe at the finished production that we spent hours on end on.

Which is why I really, truly love the Oscars. I don't always have time to watch them, and sometimes they're a bit frustrating, and they certainly aren't without error, but I think creators deserve that recognition. I mean, we're going to continue doing what we do best regardless of whether or not we have a bright shiny little golden man statue in our hands at the end of the night.

But having one doesn't hurt either.

Congrats to everyone who won at the Oscars the other night, especially Walt Disney Animation for their wins with "Feast" and "Big Hero 6."

Have a magical day!

Day 752: One Big Project

Originally I was going to share some top secret information about the band trip video on this particular blog post, but I've decided against it. After all, there's plenty yet to be released in relation to the giant project I've been working on over the past how many weeks, and I'm really looking forward to the prospect of having a premiere for the whole thing. Megan even said I could go get a nice new dress for it. So maybe I'll actually get to "walk the red carpet" for a night. Just kidding, we won't have a red carpet. Unless we use the band room carpet thing we have. I suppose I could walk along that.

Regardless, if you haven't figured it out by the completely crazy schedule of blog posts over the past month or two, or by the constant tweeting about it on my Twitter, I spent pretty much my entire winter break at my laptop, editing video. Now, I'm insanely proud of the product that is the Seymour Community High School Band Trip 2014 Video, which I really should stop calling a video because it's actually more of a movie, but I've been calling it the band trip video for the last two years, so I figure that will be a difficult habit to break.

But despite the fact that I'm trying to save at least a little bit of the surprise for the actual possible premiere, I can share a little bit about what I've been doing for the past two months, even if I can't really share any videos or pictures. So here's some facts about the band trip video:

  • Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 9 easter eggs that I have hidden in the video, although I'm sure there's more than that. I had a jolly good time trying to throw little things into the sequence, from the nearly constant references to Captain Hook or Colin O'Donoghue to references to my roommates and beyond.
  • There's a total of 23 songs in the video, which, speaking of Easter Eggs, could be an accidental one in its own right.
  • The final product is 57 minutes long, which was just under my set maximum of an hour. I knew while editing that I had more than enough to get it past that, but for time and entertainment sake, I wanted to keep it to that 60 minute mark.
  • Those 57 minutes are selected from over 30 hours of video and over 3,000 pictures. Yes, I watched every minute and looked at every single photo. It took me an eternity.
  • The video component of the video (that was a strange way to say something) was shot between, I believe, 5 different trips: July 2013, January 2014, March 2014, June 2014 and January 2015. You probably will find a few differences here and there, but for the most part, you can't tell what was shot when. I paid a lot of attention to consistency. The pictures included, however, were all taken on the trip in June.
  • Every person on the trip appears at least once in the video as a whole. I tried really hard to make sure everyone was there, but if you edit videos like this, you already know how difficult this is to achieve.
  • Also in an attempt to make sure everyone felt included in the video is the reasoning for pulling footage from 5 trips, despite the fact that everything included could NOT have been achieved in our one day at each park (or in the case of Animal Kingdom and Epcot, less than day). I went through a checked to see how many attractions I included and there's under 15 from the entirety of Walt Disney World that didn't make it into the final product. My thought process was this: I could have easily gone on Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in June, but I didn't make it to that attraction. However, while interviewing members of the band at the end of our Magic Kingdom day, I found that one of the members LOVED that attraction. Therefore, thanks to some film magic, I have that attraction included. It's all about making it apply to the most people, and when I only have one video camera that's in my hands (or the hands of a trusted friend) at all times, things get tricky.
And since you're all wondering, I'm sure, it took me approximately 150 hours to simply EDIT the video. That's not counting the time it took to find the songs, tag the pictures, actually film the video, brainstorm, animate the beginning and end (because it IS animated) or a variety of other things. Yep, it took me a really, really long time. Oh, that's also not including the extra hours I had to put on when my bloopers section corrupted.

So this video means a lot to me. I'm going to try and figure out a way to upload some clips so those of you who aren't in our band but would like to see can get an eye on what I've been working on, but that won't happen until after the "premiere," sadly. But new vlogs will hopefully be coming soon!

Have a magical day!

Day 718: Editing Day and Night

Would you like a picture of my life right about now? Here you go:

The appropriate captain here would be "Edit, edit, edit, edit, edit, edit..." and just let that repeat forever.

You see, somewhere along the line of homework and school and music and homework and blogging, I didn't really have time to edit all of the band trip video that I should have been editing for the past six months. This, of course, is a problem. I don't want to make people wait forever, and considering the fact that I return to Disney in (now) just over three days, it means that I needed to get through some of this footage to make sure I don't need anything else when I go (which I do, so this is good).

The problem is this: I end up spending around 5 hours a day, at least, editing video. There's a lot of it, and at this point, I've spent around 50+ hours in the past few weeks just staring at my computer editing the band trip video, much less blogging or anything else.

Of course, this is also kind of fun for me, simply because I do enjoy editing video of Disney World. It's kind of a strange feeling. I mean, for instance, you could be editing video of it's a small world and just find it completely weird to be watching the video when you know it so well that you can just picture it all in your head without even seeing the picture. It feels so natural to be walking there, and much less natural to be watching footage that you personally took months previous.

On the bright side, I'm almost finished with the main parts of the video, after which I have to return and put them all together with interludes and more pictures. It'll take a while, but in the end I have a feeling everything will work out pretty well, especially since the vlogs are now finished and are just waiting to be uploaded to YouTube this week before I leave.

But, you know, let's just not talk about the 9 new vlogs I'll have to edit when we return in a couple of weeks.

Have a magical day!

Day 635: Too Much Data

I've been spending a good amount of my recent life working on Disney stuff, specifically the band trip video for the 2014 SHS Band Trip to Walt Disney World. People ask me about it all the time, and all I can tell you right now is that it's a slow process and that I'm asking for patience. It's a huge undertaking, and if you don't believe me...here's a few statistics about my video editing for you.

My family got our new 1080p Video Camera in 2012. Since then, it's been to Walt Disney World 5 times I believe, meaning that I can use just about any of that video in the band trip video. I totaled the amount of video this morning, just out of curiosity, and as of right now on my computer and hard drive, I have over 33 hours of footage, and there's probably another 6 or 7 hours on my mom's laptop, which I'll be transferring over next weekend. Yes, that's not a typo, 33 hours.

And then there's pictures. Oh gosh...pictures. This total I just came up with sort of makes me want to cry a little bit. There are 5,173 pictures (including shorter videos from Band Members) from the June Trip. This is both a dream and a nightmare. It's a dream because a video is very difficult to make without pictures from the entire group. On the last band trip video I made, I had a spectacular total of around 150 pictures. In comparison to 5,000. I have more pictures from one person this trip than I had total the last one. In fact, Megan at least tripled that number alone. (Good job Shovell).

So what does this mean for me? It means a hell of a lot of watching video and editing and probably falling asleep while I do so. Since I'll be reaching the point where this Disney video really comes into play soon, I need to go through all these videos and find the ones that I really, really need. Things like specific attractions, putting it all in a list so I know where to go later and find them without having to search for hours on end for two seconds of video.

Am I complaining? Yeah, a little bit. But I love editing video and I just want to assure the band that while this is going to take some time, it'll be worth it. I spent a HUGE amount of time preparing for this video, which I hope will be more like a film than a plain old band trip video or slideshow, and from where I sit now, it appears to be paying off.

A bit of advice though...HD Video cameras are great, and I love my vlogs and creating videos...but don't get into this kind of thing unless you have the time and energy to do it. I have time...but I definitely need more coffee.

Have a magical day!

Day 560: Sentimental After All

To be quite honest, it's been months since the band trip. Just this week I was spending a good amount of time working on the band trip video (which as you already know is a larger undertaking than maybe I initially intended), and the thought came to me that there's a good portion of me that doesn't even realize anything happened.

The band trip video is long, it's going to be long, it's taking a long time to edit. It's just...long. Now, that doesn't mean that it won't be spectacular, because I certainly strive to outdo myself every time I get my hands on a new project regardless of the time and effort it's going to take to do that, and I do hope that the band enjoys the final product...even if it takes me months to edit. But that editing does take time, whether or not there is an extreme emotional attachment and connection to the project or not. When you add that connection in though, that's when things get crazy difficult.

I know I tweeted the other day about this particular project, saying "Trying to edit this video is so difficult for me due to the extreme range of emotions involved. Anger, happiness, pride, heartbreak." And it is difficult. There's a lot that went on behind the scenes of that trip, things you won't see in the vlogs that will hopefully be coming out before the end of the month (October), and things that some people, a lot of people, didn't even experience or realize.

Now, I make a serious effort in life to not hold grudges. The world is already filled with so much hate that it seems pointless to add more negativity to that. But it sure seems to me that no matter how much we attempt to let go of that hate, there's a certain percentage of it that continues to stick with us long after the situation has burned down. And when the people that caused you pain pop up on things like that video, it makes it harder to work on.

In the end, though, I guess I'm still pretty sentimental about the entire trip. It's changed me in more ways than one, and it gave me a chance to bring my best friends home (and to encourage them to return...gosh that's weird!) And no matter what happened with everyone backstage, I still have pictures from the trip covering my desk. Maybe it's not the same group of people previously in those frames, and maybe not every memory involving the trip is a happy one, but when something like that happens you have to remember it for the good moments instead of the bad. You have to edit all the video in a positive light, including everyone and as much of everything as possible, because that's what's going to make an impressive outcome. And that's certainly what I'm striving to do with this band trip video.

I hope to accomplish that (and I guess this is like a little bit of a pep talk for me). At least, I hope to accomplish it if I can ever figure out a way to include everything that needs to be included!

Have a magical day!

Day 348: Life is Rough

As you'll see in a post that will occur two days previous to this one (there will be an explanation as to why this is all messed up in a later post actually...basically though...finals), I'm home from college now. At least I'm home for the next month or so, and then I return for my second semester, a second semester that I'm sure will be quite entertaining.

Either way, I'm currently working on multiple projects all at once this morning. I'm thinking about the Once Upon a Time Winter Finale (skip ahead two days for that post...once I finish it!), but I'm working on editing my High School Band Trip video from this past summer, and working on updating this blog and planning out the last few days of the year and trying to spend time with friends and family (and my kitty of course) and multiple other things. Mainly though, right now, I'm working on my Band Trip Video.

I'll be honest. Editing this video is really hard for me right now. I mean, as I write this I'm, once again, listening to a ton of music on Youtube and through a website that has previews of tons of music perfect for videos, but the second I get to the actual editing it just gets kind of weird for me. Here's the long story short: As a senior, you know that I was both President and Drum Major of the high school band, and you also know that it's a position I loved and adored. Not because of the power, but because I felt like I belonged. I was making a difference, and making people happy. That's what I wanted. Not anything for myself, but I enjoyed it, and that was what made all of it worth it. It's what made me realize I wanted to be a music major, a new adventure that I am enjoying in college. But this past summer something snapped in some of the people around me. It was like someone flipped a switch, and suddenly they wanted me gone. It's still going on, and while I am so very proud of them, and their number one fan, it's like they never want to see me again. That's why it's so difficult for me to edit this video. It's because this video is from when we were still all a family.

But with all of this came a realization the other day. I used to be happy, and I wanted nothing MORE than to get the band to Walt Disney World. I marched with shin splints in our audition video, because there's honestly nothing I've wanted more in my life. Not for me, but for them. I want everyone to have an experience to go to Walt Disney World, and while I'll finally be fulfilling my dream of marching down Main Street, I'm even happier that they can fulfill it too, even if it's something they never imagined in their wildest dreams. It's a once in a lifetime experience, and I hope they all enjoy it.

The closer we get to that performance though, the more things get crazy. I stepped down from my positions as President and Drum Major months ago, only returning to see them perform (or as I did this last Friday, have a great opportunity to perform with them once again for a few minutes) or help with the planning of the Disney trip. I'm helping because I know what I'm talking about and can provide some real insight into the trip. It isn't my trip, but I'm offering my help anyways. I would do that even if I couldn't go ON the trip. It is what I want to do for the rest of my life, after all. Even so, I'm often getting backlash from people who don't want me there at all. Those who think I should get lost. And that hurts. I'm trying to help and they're just 100% refusing it.

So this week I was thinking about all of this, because some other circumstances brought it really to the forefront of my mind. And finally I realized what is probably the REAL reason Once Upon a Time has become so important to me over the past few months. Before I thought it was just because I was in Disney Depression, but it turns out that this is a whole new kind of Disney Depression. You see, when I watch Once Upon a Time with my friends, it makes me happy. It's like when in The New Neverland Charming was talking about the good and the bad moments. Well right now Once makes up most of my good moments. It's a way I've made countless new friends at college, and therefore I want to hold onto those moments when the life I knew a year ago is turning quickly from good moments to bad ones.

Because now, as I think about Walt Disney World and the band trip, I can only think about how everything I do to help is just going to be considered by people I used to call my family as stupid and unhelpful. I know it means a lot to some people that I'm still there, but it takes a lot for me to wear a smile around others sometimes. It hurts, first off, that they're treating me like dirt, but even more so that because of the band trip, they're ruining the one thing that means the most to me. Disney.

Now, Disney will always be an important part of my life. No matter what. But right now everytime I think about Disney World I can't help but think to everything they'll say. Everything I say and do these days is based on what their reaction will be and whether it will help or make things worse. I don't know what the right thing to do is anymore, and this entire circumstance is going to test me more than anything else in my entire life. I know that the friends I have left, and the new ones I've made at college, and Once and, most importantly, Disney, will get me through this. But that doesn't mean it's going to get any easier either.

I guess I'll just have to live by a few of my favorite quotes:

"All your dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them." -Walt Disney

"There has to be a darkness for the dawn to come." -Harrison Ford

"Life is made up of moments. Good ones. Bad ones. But they're all worth living." -Prince Charming (Once Upon a Time)

Here's today's Disney History: 1966: Lilly Disney visits her husband Walt at St. Joseph's Hospital (Across from his studio in Burbank, California). Although Walt is very ill, she is encouraged by the strength he shows. His brother Roy pays him a visit at night and they talk about company matters, EPCOT, and Disney World. Walt looks at the ceiling and points out the design of the new Florida park to a teary-eyed Roy. After he leaves, Walt asks to have his bed raised so he can look toward the nearby Disney Studios. At Roy's order, every one of the studio's light is left on to shine through the night.

Have a magical day!

Day 296: Promo Video!

I can share this on my blog now since everyone has pretty much officially seen it (at least my High School Band has all seen it as of now). I was waiting for the high school to see it before posting in on my blog. Plus now the video is finally up in 1080p. The other day when I first uploaded it, it wasn't in that HD quality yet because as fast as my internet is here at SNC, it's not that fast.

So here's what I'm talking about:

That's right, I made a promotional video for my high school band trip to Orlando and Walt Disney World. You could say I'm a bit excited. Actually, apparently I was the legitimately first person signed up to go, my brother is second. Probably because my mother went and brought in our payment before the High School even got their brochures, but you know.

Anyway, there certainly are some favorite moments I have with this video. I mean, I love the entire thing, obviously, because I edited it all, but there are just a couple of moments that are my absolute favorite. For instance, I love the first time we see the band marching, because the steps all line up with the music. And when we're dancing in that opening section, our dance moves match the song too. Then I think it's safe to say that the next thing I adore is when we're going down Splash and it transfers into Big Thunder and such, and I love the ending with the Thrills and Classic Attractions. But my absolute favorite part is the end, when the projections on the castle match the music perfectly. Can't get much better than that if you ask me! Also, if you watch closely you may find hidden hints to Colin O'Donoghue and Harrison Ford! My two favorite actors!

Here's today's Disney History: 2011: ABC-TV premieres the fairy tale drama series Once Upon a Time. About a woman with a troubled past who is drawn into a small town in Maine where the magic and mystery of Fairy Tales parallels real life, the series stars Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas and Jared Gilmore. Created by Lost and Tron: Legacy writers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Once Upon a Time is distributed by Disney-ABC Domestic Television. (MY FAVORITE SHOW!)

Day 283: All Sped Up

I follow pretty much every Disney thing I can on Facebook. Ok, maybe not every Disney thing, but I do follow Walt Disney World and Disneyland and Disney Studios and the job things and the Passholder page. You get the idea. Lots and lots of Disney.

So yesterday when I was checking my Facebook quickly before starting homework I found something that totally made my day! A couple of times I've done my Youtube Video series, and I believe it was in the first one that I shared two of my absolute favorite Disney videos on Youtube: the Disney Parks Tilt Shift Videos. Just in case you missed them, here's a recap:

I mean, there are a couple of other ones out there, but these two were always my favorite. And for a long time I've been waiting for new ones. In fact, these tilt shift videos helped inspire my video "Memories" that I did. The stop motion one that I did for Creative Writing with my poem. Yep, that one. The music matches up too, if you're observant.

So you can see how when I found this last night (and just a few minutes ago for the California Adventure one!) it totally made my day! So excited! And then I posted it on Facebook and was like "TOMORROW'S BLOG POST!" because I already had my topic for yesterday done.

I really do hope you enjoyed the videos because I know I did. Whoever had the bright idea to do these, THANK YOU!

Day 247: Emotional Journies

There's been a lot of talk these past few days about the emotions we feel when we go to Walt Disney World. Maybe it's just the blogs I follow, or maybe it's the fact that the Comical Growers from OceanSpray went to Walt Disney World, but I didn't want to be left out! I mean some of the things were pretty entertaining, and very true, all at the same time!

So here's a few of my personal favorite graphs and charts from the past couple of days, with links to where you can find the entire set!

I couldn't help but put this one on here, especially since we just discussed this a few weeks ago. When you go to a Disney Resort, you're happy all the time. Just all day, everyday you're there. And then you have to go home, and you just end up grumpy until you go back.

This one made me laugh quite a bit, because it's pretty darn true. I never used to like Space Mountain (I know, I'm sorry), but I love it now (does that make up for it?), and this chart perfectly describes how I handle the attraction. No matter how many times I go on it I somehow always end up still screaming. Probably because it just makes it more fun. I mean, it's not like I can be surprised EVERY time I go down the same drop, especially when I go on it multiple times in a row...but I can pretend right?

And now, what I feel is the truest one of them all, the want to buy all the things. I always want to buy all the things, and I will find every reason or excuse to buy said things when I go to Disney. In fact, I'm pretty sure I will never have enough when it comes to Disney things. I mean, I do have a room to fill in my future house, right?

Finally, because I thought this was just the best thing of all time, here is a video that describes how we all feel when we walk into a Disney Park!

In the end, we all know that going to Walt Disney World is basically just an emotional rollercoaster, pun completely intended. Luckily, and to quote John Green, we're on a rollercoaster that only goes up...well, until, as that chart up there perfectly narrates, we have to leave. Then I guess we go down and completely renders this example pointless, but you get the idea.

Today's #Frumstagram photo is based on the keyword "Merch," which, interestingly enough, fits in well with the topic of this post, since I just talked about how I always want all of the things. Because yes, and sorry to my High School English teacher, things is the proper word. I used a picture of some of the only Disney Merch I have in my dorm room, my Vinylmation!

And here's today's Disney History: 2000: Hundreds of Mary Poppins' fans gathered at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood where moviegoers are invited to sing-along with the film as lyrics appear along the bottom. Before the film starts, the Sherman Brothers and others involved with Mary Poppins speak about creating the film.
