Day 1145: I Love That Wookiee

When my friend Allie asked if I wanted to go to Build-A-Bear, of course the answer was yes!

Disney, and especially Star Wars, is literally everywhere these days, which is a far cry from what it used to be. Now, even adults can find constant merchandise right in their backyard, which is great for those of us who live far enough away from the Disney Parks that we tend to go a bit overboard if we do manage to find a Disney store...or anything Disney related for that matter. Build-A-Bear has had connections with Disney for a long time, but now that Star Wars has come into the mix, we figured that a trip to the store would be the perfect way to get rid of some stress after a long week of college.

Being the Star Wars fans we are, we just had to make a Chewbacca and a Han Solo, and because they're the coolest duo in the galaxy, they obviously needed sunglasses too. They're all set to go with their Star Wars sounds and blasters and outfits...unless they happen across Kylo Ren. That could be a problem.

Long story short, we spent a lot of money going to Build-A-Bear at age 20 and we loved every second of it...because we all need a bit more Star Wars and a lot more Disney in our lives.

Day 1143: All the Tsum Tsums

It's been about a year now since I got my very first Tsum Tsums, which I bought as a reward for nailing an on campus job that I never expected to get. The fact that I got my very first paycheck seemed like a good enough reason to make an addition to my Disney Collection, and Tsum Tsums seemed like the way to go. Because they're so inexpensive, they make a great gift and their size makes them an adorable way to decorate, but it also means that they're really addicting...especially when every new Tsum Tsum release seems better than the last! 

It all started again when I became rather Twitterpated...with these Bambi Tsum Tsums of course. You just can't deny the adorableness that is this little collection (although really...we need a Flower). 

Just when you thought that maybe you don't need all the Tsum Tsums, this collection came around. Disney has definitely been spilling over into the parks for inspiration for new characters, and I'm pretty positive that this batch has us all yelling out "We wants the redhead!" 

The theme here seems to be "if you collect one, you collect them all," and with the wide array of Zootopia Tsum Tsums out there, I think we might be spending more than anticipated. To be fair though, if you didn't want to buy all of the characters in the Zootopia collection, you could always just stick with Nick, Judy, and...yep, Flash. Or you could buy them all. 

From what I can understand, stacking up Tsum Tsums in giant towers is a part of the fun...which means that the Tangled Collection is definitely a perfect fit. So if you're asking "When will my Tsum Tsum Collection begin?" I think we've found the answer. 

We all need more Star Wars. Enough said. 

It's not well known, but Tsum Tsums do more than just look adorable sitting wherever you've placed them in your room...they also help protect you while you sleep! When it comes to protecting, the Avengers and other various characters from the Marvel Universe seem like the perfect Tsum Tsums for the job! 

Now we have a problem though...which ones to we buy?

Day 784: A Package Has Arrived

If getting Disney mail at home is one of the best things ever, then imagine getting Disney mail at school. You might remember a couple of weeks ago when I bought my Epcot Starbucks You Are Here mug, and if you don't remember it, you can read that post HERE, but there's just one small problem.

That mug is now worth at least $200, although most on ebay are currently going for closer to $300-400. I love my mug, I really do, and I have no intention of selling it, but as Megan said the other day, it's kind of nerve wrecking washing a $300 mug that's not even yours, and trust me, it's just as bad when it IS yours. Therefore, there was only one solution to this problem.

I had to get another mug.

Now, I'm not talking about another Epcot mug (are you crazy?), but lucky for me, there are several other mugs out there, and since I already had one shipped to my house, it wasn't hard to find another to be sent my way. Since I couldn't find a decently priced Magic Kingdom mug, I instead opted for the Hollywood Studios mug, which is just plain adorable, and I'm loving the fact that the Sorcerer's Hat is no where to be found. I guess my plan is working because since buying this new one, I've used it twice and the Epcot mug sits safe and sound on my shelf. I feel bad forcing it to live a life on the shelf, but it's a collectors item now, and considering the rest of my Epcot/Spaceship Earth collection, it's now one of the most important pieces.

But that's not all that came in the mail. On a completely different blog post, which you can read HERE, I lamented about the one thing I forgot to buy while at Disney: Tsum Tsum. But since I have a job now, a real job, I wanted to celebrate in a small fashion. Plus, my new desk will need a little bit of decorating once I have things cleaned off more than they are at the current moment. So I put in an order to the Disney store and by the end of opening all the packages I got from the mail center, my life looked something like this:

Oh yes, it was a very good day for mail indeed. I also realized that I ordered the Tsum Tsum perfectly so they stack by film. Three 101 Dalmatians themed ones on the bottom row, with Cruella in the middle of the two pups, two from Toy Story on top of that, and Donald to round out the tower. I swear I didn't plan it that way, but I also didn't plan falling absolutely in love with these little guys. I don't think my roommates planned that either.

Day 750: The Things I Forgot

Believe it or not, there are actually things from Walt Disney World that I forgot I was going to buy. Yes, me, who bought half the store, forgot to get something! Know what it was?

Tsum Tsum.

I remember when these guys first came out I laughed. I literally laughed, because who would buy all of those.

And then a month or two ago I realized. I would buy all of those. These things are adorable.

Now, I'm not saying that I was going to buy all of them, but I definitely wanted to find like one. They're small, just like Vinylmation are, and aren't over the top Disney. Perfect for at college for on your desk. A little bit of Disney can often times go a long way without seeming over the top, as we've already learned.

I mean really, aren't these just adorable? Here are some of my favorites:

Maybe it's the fact that Cruella is going to be on Once Upon A Time soon, or maybe it's the fact that I've always loved 101 Dalmatians, or it could be the adorableness that is the Tsum Tsum puppies, but I am in love with these guys and seriously considering getting them sometime, you know, after I have a pay check from my job. 

This little Bullseye is just the start of the adorableness that is the Tsum Tsum Toy Story collection. The little Hamm is even more adorable and there's a little Lotso and why haven't I gotten any of these again? 

Can we just talk about this Dumbo one for a second. Or maybe a bit longer because who can resist that face? For real, I think you can see how they're little enough to fit somewhere like a desk and bring a bit of Disney to your life without having too much of it and making your workspace scream Disney. Unless you want it to scream Disney, then go all out, and please, send pictures so we can all see. 

But for me, I live in a world where Disney, while awesome, isn't exactly everything to those that aren't me, so having a very subtle Disney Desk is important. 

And so that's why I have the distinct feeling that sooner rather than later one or two of these will make an appearance in my life.

Day 603: Ursula Mugs

I have a friend here at college who loves Ursula, or rather, The Little Mermaid. Like, REALLY loves The Little Mermaid. Probably more than I love Tangled...and that's saying something because do you know how much I love Flynn Rider?

Anyways, a while back they started selling these Ursula mugs:

And it just screamed my friend's name. So I had to get it for his birthday present, despite the fact that his birthday was months ago and literally I just gave it to him today. But he loved it, and I mean seriously loved it. Watching him open it was priceless because the box and the tissue paper all ended up on the ground and stuff was thrown everywhere and he was jumping around. Seriously awesome. 

Because sometimes, there are just Disney products that remind me of my friends, and then they generally end up getting them as gifts because I can't imagine NOT giving them to them because it would just seem wrong.

Day 213: Disney Things I'd Like to Buy

Well, when trying to figure out what to write about for today, I was on Pinterest, like I often am, and decided that one board I don't really talk about much is my Disney Store board, which is basically all of the Disney things that are awesome and that I really wish I owned. It just sounded like something I could talk about, because while there are so many Disney things I wish I owned, there are really only a few that I have currently posted on my Pinterest board.

Alright, so I'm kind of obsessed with Donald Duck. He's probably one of my favorite characters. Like, my phone case is sometimes Donald, and I love my Donald Duck Sweatshirt absolutely to death! Actually, other than that I guess there isn't a lot of stuff that I have that's Donald, but you know. That just means that there's plenty of room for more Donald!

I'll be honest with this one. If someone buys me these, I'd be so happy for like...ever. If you are a blog reader and want to send me something ever, send me these. I would kill for such shoes. I would. Ok, maybe not.

I have one question: Why do I not have this for my computer? 

You can't not have Disney luggage. I guess I have some Disney luggage, but this one is seriously awesome. I would love to have these suitcases, and if I ever have to actually buy new suitcases I'm pretty sure I'll buy these or something like these. It just seems like a thing I need to do. 

And finally, this. I just need this. I think we ALL need this. Just saying. 

So, if you ever want to get me a gift...these are all great choices. That or anything Canadian. I love Canadian things. That might just be because I'm currently watching an ApprenticeEh vlog though.

Day 140: MCO

Now, this might seem like kind of a strange post for today, but trust me, it does have a bit of a point.

This last week, one of my friend's parents took a trip to Florida, and of course they flew in through Orlando International Airport. And since my own Disney trip is quickly approaching, I figured I'd make a post just about it...the airport that is.

The Orlando International Airport is the place most Disney-goers fly through, including myself, and that makes the airport all part of the great adventure each time we go. If you've been there, especially more than one, you know that there are plenty of little things that makes the airport all part of the Disney vacation itself. 

The first one is obvious...the Disney Store. It always makes me smile to see Spaceship Earth and the rest of the icons on that wall. I know I did get some video it the last time I went, for the vlog, but it didn't make it into the actual video because I didn't do one for the first day...that will change for this next trip though...since I already have an idea for my first video. But either way, it's a little piece of Disney that's there early, or, if you forgot to grab something from the parks, it's a great last chance to get that extra souvenir.

But if you're like me, you also know that the very first (and last) "attraction" of a Disney vacation is also at the airport...the tram ride of course! Or monorail...I'm not absolutely sure what it's called, at least not off the top of my head, but it's still awesome. I mean, it's a little sad when you don't get that front window seat (although my brother and I always used to like run to get it), but it's still fun to be able to take a ride! I'm pretty sure we have film of this from just about every vacation too...just saying. 

And so, MCO is really a big part of the Disney vacation experience, unless you're driving, because that's an entirely different story. But if you do fly, between the Disney store and the monorail and the way the suitcases click on the tile floor (I don't know why it always reminds me of vacation...), it's certainly another great thing you can experience on your trip. And then there's the rental car or Magical Express or a Taxi, or whatever you use to get to Disney, but I feel like that's another post entirely. Maybe I'll do that on a later post, sometime after I've made that trip again. It is only a few months away, after all!
